List Mgmt. Which free agent should we be targeting?

Dangerfield will end up at Geelong if he leaves Adelaide.
BUT if he is open to a move to any club in VIC then we should throw the kitchen sink at him.
Rance will go to Perth if he leaves Richmond.

Alternatively -

I think if Jack Steven was keen on a move and we could entice him over to Collingwood he would be a good pickup.
If Scott Selwood wanted to move to Victoria then we should have a dip.
Both would cost less than Dangerfield as well and would allow us to try and trade for Treloar if he was interested in moving to Victoria.

Alot of possibilities but I think any of these players will improve our side.



Stay away from Mullett or Syposs seriously.

If we have the coin then a go after a decent free agent for sure. Steven and Selwood would be great, Dangerfield the absolute bomb!

As for all the GWS boys they're trades not free agents. That said I wouldn't be opposed to any of them for the right price. I wouldn't like us to sell the kitchen sink to get them though.

I know I am a romantic, but use the first round pick to get the Weid!

Varcoe is a premiership player in a team that was one of the best we have ever seen.
If he was in Geelong's best 22 then he is in ours.

Young is borderline 22, when everyone is fit and ready to go I dont think he would be in the side at this stage.

We dont need to pick up players that are not going to be in our starting 18 or so.
Recruit guns, go out and pick up a gun who will walk in and be in our starting midfield - like a Dangerfield, Selwood or Steven.

A big no to Mullet.

Whilst it's possible, it's highly unlikely we'll be on the controlling end of a trade akin to Beams' over Treloar. One can hope though I suppose.

Crazy if we don't throw everything at Dangerfield.

We don't need another key forward. Gault, Moore, Karnezis, Elliott and Fasolo are all under 22. We're good in the forward line, also don't forget we have 3 young ruckmen that will rotate through there.

Our defence is also very young. We need a mid age hard bodied mid with genuine pace and skill. We need Danger.

Well I dissagree Danger will give us skill.

I don't want to give up Reid but what I've noticed is GWS have been stingy when it comes to giving up former first rounders that weren't even best 22. So an out and out gun like Treloar is going to cost a fair bit.

Dangerfield and jack Steven for me. Will have some massive coin at seasons end one would assume.

One would think we Would have front loaded the contracts the past 2 years, shaws payments would be finishing, swanny on reduced payment going forward (veterans allowance), young going..... Hopefully, we can squeeze in these 2 somehow.


Getting both might be wishful thinking but we definitely have room for one and maybe an undervalued young gun who isn't gonna cost more than 300-400k a year. Maybe an aish type player - offer him 5 years paying a little overs but he'll be worth almost twice that in 3-4 years.
