GC have the list with the most potential I feel.

Whether they actually fulfill that I doubt. But just on the list they're my #1

GC and GWS have had the most potential for pretty much their entire existances.

My uncle competed in the Olympics long long and when we went and saw his sport at the 2000 Olympics I talked to him about Australia's chances and he said we wouldnt win until after we lost a Gold medal match.

A very similar view held across all team sports. So even if this GC team defied expectations and actually won a final they'd still need to lose a Grand Final. SonI dont imagine it will be this crop of players.

But if their Academy keeps cranking out players noone else can touch they will get there. Before St Kilda probably.

Gold Coast had an amazing crop of academy kids in the latest draft and the 2024 draft is supposed to be almost as good. Will really help with their retention issues.

That is true, but being able to pick up locals helps a lot. The bottom Victorian teams mostly don't have retention issues because they draft mostly from Victoria.
