Which midfielers?

which 5-7 midfielders should be in the 22.
J.Johnson, dyson, lovett, watson, monfries, jetta, winderlich mcveigh, pevrill, dempsey, camporale, stanton, heffernan, davey, hislop, lonergan, reimers, houli, cole or maybe even ramanascus.

Some of these players can play in the forward or back half too.

I reckon from the list, you can include 11 players: JJ, Dyson, Lovett, Watson, Monfries, Jetta, Winderlich, McVeigh, Stanton, Heffernan, and Davey.

Of those only 5 (JJ, Dyson, Watson, Winderlich and Stanton) can be clasified as solely midfielders.

Unfortunately that leaves me with only 11 spots for 12 players. MM, Hird, Lloyd, Fletcher, Lucas, Welsh, Hille and McPhee are shoe-ins. That leaves Ryder, NLM, MJ and Laycock vying for three spots. Who gets in should very much depend on who we are playing. Possibly even dropping Dyson out of the team is a possibility if the situation calls for it, as would elevation Peverill for a stopping role.

Yeah, who to drop though... I would rather Heff then Pev in the team.. JJ is hopefully back for Bendigo this week

Depends week by week. Jetta and Davey probably won't play every week, Heff and/or Pev may get up and down like last year, we'll get injuries from time to time.

Hopefully JJ can work back into the team soon and play good footy, we'll be even better

Stanton is as quick as anyone on the list
And one of our better kicks, as well

One of our most important is McVeigh
We've got the dig-it-out brigade covered, plenty of speed to move it on quickly, but McVeigh's one of only a few on our list with the vision and skill needed to spot u pleads with the best of them. The others? Hird and Campo are the only two that come to mind - and they'll probably both be out by next season

And I don't know how anyone can actually be watching games at the moment thinking Peverill should be dropped. He's on cracking form! Only about 4 others hae had more touches

the current line up looks good to me.

but over the next 12-18 months lonergan, hislop and dempsey will be those likely to break into the side as midfielders. maybe hocking, too, but he's similar to lonergan. dempsey probably heads the pack, but i've got a suspician that hislop is coming with a bullet.

houli will follow the slattery path of a defensive running half-back. if he'd shown a bit more for bendigo, he'd probably have snared welsh's spot this week.

cole and campo's careers likely to end this year. neither in our best 22 atm.

reimers was a speculative pick, and may be a long-long-term forward flanker.

I think his latter pre season has been interupted. I think he has a fair base from a good portion of early pre season. I remember MJ saying JJ would be back to AA level he is training that hard.

Anyone know better please advise.

And look at that, I've omitted the great youngster in Jetta and found no room for Peverill.

There's room for more midfielders than that, You could probably include 2-3 more which would probably be shared between Jetta, Peverill, Heffernan, Camporeale and Dyson depending on who's fit. I also must question what constitutes a midfielder, I feel guys like Hird, McPhee, Welsh should be included if Jetta and Davey are.

Welsh should not be included, neither should McPhee. Yes they can play in the midfield, but would you want them to at the expense of softening our defence? I think not.

I don't think they should be included but I think they are more so midfielders than Jetta and Davey and they were included.
