I would say when Its play on, when the ball hits the post and comes back in play. That's an exciting part of the game that most supporters would be happy with.

No mark when kicking backwards. That would totally destroy Swans, Freo, Hawks, and the Tiges game plans, but make the game more exciting to watch, and improve attendances. We all still remember that Crows V Tiges game, where Terry employed an ultra-flood, and extreme chip-kicking backwards tactics, that even had some Tiges fans booing. :)

Yep I like that rule.

This will go down as a montumental moment. This is the first time you've talked any sense. However, not sure how this would destory freo.

The '9 point' Super Goal, for sure. I can definitely see it being a success. You could choose your designated super-kickers before the match (one or two on each team) and they are the only men that the rule applies to.

I would like to see the kicking behind the mark rule used from the VFL. That rule alone adds more excitement. Also the hands in the back rule must be addressed and hopefully turfed.

I hate every NAB cup rule, especially the 3 point rushed behind rule- how can defenders defend when they can't concede, chop the arms OR touch them in the back? Ridiculous. The play on after a poster rule is rubbish too, you're almost guaranteed a crumming goal after that happens (happened to us last night, still think it's a stupid rule). Nine pointer's are good for the pre-season, but I'd hate to see that introduced into the main season.

Super goals would suck in the main season.... as would most rules from the NAB cup

If they implemented the 20 metre kick/mark rule, then maybe the umpires would start calling kicks that were 15 metres as marks, not 10 metres

None of them but if there is one then make it the 3 point rushed behind rule. Teams seem a lot more reluctant to put it through for a rushed behind and there was way too much of it in H&A 2006.

The only rule that i like from the NAB cup is the boundry umps coming in 10 metres before they throw it in!!

We all still remember that Crows V Tiges game, where Terry employed an ultra-flood, and extreme chip-kicking backwards tactics, that even had some Tiges fans booing. :)
That was one of the worst games i've ever seen, but it annoys me that the Tigers seem to get all the blame when the crows deserve as much if not more. It was the crows who employed the super flood with all their players behind the ball. Leaving the Bowdens and Rains free in one half of the ground to chip the ball to each other!!

Tigers chose not to go foward-Why would Crows go foward w/o the ball? It was what the Crows always do, so there werent any surprises
It wasnt necessarily a flood tactic by the Tiges as it was keepies off

No it isn't. It's contrived bullsh*t to give the rules committee something to do and therefore justify their existence. Totally and absolutely unnecessary. As is the 3 point rushed behind (bollocks), the 9 point supergoal (more bollocks) and marks not being paid if you kick backwards in defence (way to avoid it - it's called MANNING UP).

I've got an idea - how about play the preseason games with the same set of rules as the regular season? So the teams can practise the same skills they'll need for the season proper? Revolutionary idea eh?
