Forget about trades and even injured senior players returning, this is where we can gain alot of improvement in '06. Look at the Crows.

Which of our kids is the most likely to establish themselves as a regular senior player next year and lead our charge back up the ladder?

I pray for Guy Richards but I serously doubt any of our younger players (is Guy still young?) have enough talent apart from a couple of the 2004 draftees in Rusling and Cloke who are probably not ready yet.

He's been on the list for 5 years now i think? If he cements a regular place in the side for another 5 years, he'll become a life member of the club and be lucky to reach 100 games by that time..

Nick Maxwell, Julian Rowe, Ryan Lonie, Richard Cole, Travis Cloke. We need these players to take the next step next year.

We also need some more experienced players to take the next step.

Alan Didak, Chris Tarrant, Josh Fraser, etc.

These are the players we need to start building our team around, can't let buckley/rocca/clement/wakelin/presti carry our side for any longer.

Just as a neutral perspective, I'm with Lonie_From_50.
If Chris Egan gets a little more polish he will definitely be a player. Liked the look of him since I saw him play against WCE.

Huge call. Travis Cloke is still very young, and I wouldn't expect him to make a huge impact in only his second season at the club... that's why we have Rocca holding down CHF for now.

I agree with you on the other names, especially Julian Rowe. He walked the walk by coming out and saying he wants to kill the opposition with his foot skills, but, can he talk the talk?

I actually think Josh and Dids were showing some real good signs of maturation despite the injury interupted year - Josh was one of our best in pre-season and Dids as we saw won us a few games through his brilliance mid year. Not much you can do though when you only play a handful of games. Guy needs to stay fit if he is to make inroads. Id really like a big bulky experienced bastard to be drafted to the club though to help these two out.

I think Travis will really benefit from having Rocca (and Josh) supporting him next year and will be a solid contributor. Eegs Im expecting to take a bit longer but will have some exciting little cameos. Ruzza with a bit more bulk could also be very exciting and help us get some more wins next year with a bag of 4 here and there. Rowe and Maxwell need to continue to make steps towards being consistent senior players and O'Brien, Davies and Fanning should get a chance here and there to get a game. Same goes with Cam.

Heath Shaw is like Dane Swan, people will keep saying he's sht despite racking up the possies. Won't be spectacular but every team needs guys like this who have a real crack. Will never be champions either of them but happy to have them for squad depth.

Ive lost all confidence in Cole..won't care if we trade him. If we DO keep him, I sure as hell hope its not in the backline and he is allowed to play on the wing charging in at the centre bounces as I have seem him play best as.

This is a Hard one.. Guy Richards HAS to step up..

Fraser Didak and tarrant have to become a-graders, they can do it just havent yet.

we seriously can't ask it out of travis yet. he was drafted as a bottom aged player. and for some reason im getting the feeling he may be burnt out by the time he is about 27 almost like rocca. we need to slow him down even though he easily can play in the team if he wants.

Julian Rowe! Has to step up have a huge pre-season put on some bulk and work on his kicking. He's got all the tools to be a gun.. Im a big fan and we'll have to wait and see

Lockyer24 u said that rusling must bulk up.. I do agree to a certain extent. He must get a bit bigger but not too much as to slow his running down, he is already a pretty big boy and is only 18. Thats the first thing i noticed when watching him play. I have HUGE expectations for him but wouldnt mind him being eased into it. He could be anything!

People are saying Travis Cloke can't be counted on to step up as he is only young and there is a 2nd year curse that many young players get who play in their first year. However he could be a smoky to really step up especially since he will have another pre-season under his belt, he will not have school to worry about, if he is at uni or whatever he will be doing it part time which means he can get to training all the time and probably most importantly Rocca and Tarrant and Fraser should all be on the park more than 2005 which will make him the 3rd tall and less presure on him.
We might play him CHB a fair bit this year also, which will not necessarily mean he will be our CHB for the future but it could help him learn more aobut the CHF possy, like it did B.Miller.

Rowe has the potential to be a gun. His main problem is his kicking and it can sometimes be great, apparently its some injury he had when he was younger that knocked his kicking action around a bit. If he can iron that problem out he will go along way this year.

Kids (except for Judd) take time. It is time for Dids, Josh, Johnno, Taz, Lonie, Cole, Maxwell, J Cloke N Davis, Walker to take the heat off Bucks , Burns, Anthony, Licka, Clemo, Presti.

Then we might see Richards, C & T Cloke, Egan, Rowe, Rusling, Harry, Davies develop. Buts lets not kill these kids. Poor young Travis had the ********** beaten out of him this year and whilst he has a big body let's ease that big body in otherwise we will be lucky to get 150 games out of him.

Anthony, Josh, Taz, Bucks and his brothers should take a bit of heat off him physically. Travis clearly can play but we want him to learn. Play him outside even on a wing for a while not CHF or CHB. Lets take a long term view CHB or CHF in 2008.
