Problem is that Cook is now in his 5th year on the list. If he's going to put it all together it really needs to be right now. I feel that if he does ever put it all together it'll be at another club. I just don't really see where he fits in our team even if he does put it all together.
He was doing so well, until that head knock in the 3rd quarter. Talent is immense, with all disposals in his last game being damaging.

Honestly, feels like the exact issues we talked about with Fog. Cook is the one player in the squad I would love to see him play a whole season of AFL to see where it can take him. I can’t really see much weakness in his game other than “needs more of the ball”.

Problem is finding him a spot in the team for a full season. He was only in last week due to the injury to Rachele. I guess if Tex hangs up the boots this year then that opens up a spot in the forward line next year. But Cook would still be battling with the likes of Pedlar, Taylor or, god help us, Murphy for that spot up forward.

Was having an outstanding game last week until the concussion, hopefully he'll be given another opportunity next week. It remains to be seen if he can string performances like that together. I do think he has enough ability that he'd likely get picked up by someone else if he doesn't make it with us.

I like Cook and would persist, but wasn't he given a pretty fair run at things last year without really imposing himself?

Correct and he’s gone back to the sanfl and impressed and looked to be taking his chance this call up before getting injured.

I’m talking from a hypothetical perspective. Cook hasn’t done enough to stamp his authority as a deserved regular starter, but on pure talent alone, he looks highly capable of being a serious X factor.

Particularly when I had rewatched the last game against the Dogs, his disposals were all class and none went to waste. He looks more comfortable from what little I’ve seen of him this year (I haven’t been following the SANFL), and I really do hope he gets a good run of 3-4 games to see what he can show us now.

I'm voting Cook. Locking him into our team from now on.
And I'm expecting a classical underdog Cinderella story to unfold soon with strong ball winning performances and a new reputation for delivering bullets into our forwards. They'll be a be a bf thread titled Cook vs Dawson, Spot the Difference. The crescendo of his accent into AFC folklore will result in a second place in our bnf in 26 after a year of 85 goal assists and 240 tackles in a year playing exclusively on the HFF.

He'll finish behind club champion, Riley Thilthorpe (120 goals, all from marks) and just ahead of an unlucky Mark Keane who through the year earned the nickname of Mr Corridor for his 100% effective disposal year without going long to the right once.

Captain Dawson polled 4th in the club bnf which surprised many due to his boil over win in the Brownlow medal over Patrick Cripps. Wayne Milera played a great year in 5th due to wanting to be the best Milera in the team after being joined at half back by his cousin during the trade period.

But overall, well done Cooky for a great year and your new 9 year, $1.2m p/y contract extention.

I like Cook. He has some real freakish skills. If you watch his U18 highlights he looks like a taller Robbie Grey.
I think he has lost a bit of that freedom to just play since coming in to the AFL. Theres far more structure, zones etc that he has to keep in mind compared to the U18s.

I really hope he makes it as he has a unique skillset that's different to what we have at the moment. Didn't help him that ANB came in this year either.
