Based mainly on output this year (form, consistency, durability, skill), which of our players do you think would walk into any club's best 22?

I can think of only one definite - Shannon Hurn.

Coming very close would be Lecras and McKenzie, but I couldn't say either of them with 100% confidence. Lecras has dropped off a touch recently, certainly he has had better seasons, and it's slightly harder for EMac due to the limited number of available spots in any given side for a KPD (for example, the Hawks wouldn't take him if Gibson, Lake and Schoenmakers were all fit and firing).

If this were 2012 I might have included Nicnat, but he is too inconsistent this season and can't take a grab to save himself (a ruckman averaging 1.4 marks a game? Even with everything else he contributes, come on).

Am I missing anyone? Please tell me I am.

I honestly believe all of those below would get a game at any club, given the right circumstances...

Mitch Brown (on 2014 form especially)
Mark Le Cras

Andrew Gaff
Elliot Yeo
Beau Waters (when fit)
Nic Naitanui
Scott Selwood (especially with a better midfield around him)
Matt Priddis (see: Selwood)
Luke Shuey
Eric Mackenzie
Josh Kennedy
Xavier Ellis (see: Waters)
Dean Cox
Matt Rosa (would be a valued foot-soldier)
Shannon Hurn

Jack Darling
Jamie Bennell (on 2014 alone)

The ones in bold would be based on 2014 form alone.

Hell, given his rise, a lot of clubs would see value in McGovern too, but I'm hesitant to say 'any' other club just yet.

Agreed.

They just all can't seem to put it together at ours :/

FWIW - LeCras, Gaff, Naita, McKenzie, Kennedy, Hurn and Darling would be top 5(ish) players at any AFL club.

Mackenzie. Hurn. Rosa. Maybe LeCras. That's about it. Shuey in a supplementary role but not as a prime midfielder.

Mackenzie would be Hawthorn's best defender. He's easily a walk up start at any club.

Thinking of the top 4 sides, they're pretty stacked in different areas, so it's really a bit hard to say.
I think you also can't base it just off this year, players are played on potential and development as well.

With that I'd say:
EMac
Hurn
Shuey
Naitanui
Darling

First off, I may have misstated the question I meant to ask (apologies for the confusion, but I think most of you understood it anyway) - I think a better way to ask it is: "Which players on our list would be walk up starts at every other club?"

OK, I am probably being harsh on McKenzie and he could slip into the definites with Hurn, but I think many of the replies here are absurdly generous to our players - 10+ of our players walking into the best 22 of every other club? Nope.

Which teams do you think the following players would not make...

Hurn
Mackenzie
Naitanui
Cox
Le Cras
Kennedy
Yeo
Priddis
Shuey
Waters (fit)
Selwood

They would all be walk up starts to any club. Remember, the quality of a club often enhances the performances of a player. Just because Selwood is having a down year, it does not mean he would not be a valued contributor at, say, Hawthorn.

I think about a third of our best 22 would safely get a gig anywhere else, and another third would play maybe 5 or 6 matches a season at every other club.

The final third would only crack a game in sides on the bottom half of the ladder or in those sides with a deficiency of their type.

People are very easily discounting Shuey - he'd EASILY get a game at any team in the competition, ANY team.

Lots of players would. Our top 8-10 players would be comfortably better than every other teams bottom 8-10.

Even Naitanui who's in fluctuating form would likely get a game at every other club assuming he's fit.

"Which players on our list would be walk up starts at every other club?"
The top ten(ish) players at every club would get a start at every other club, assuming this is a one off trade for an individual player.

Any club that has Hurn, NicNat, McKenzie, Kennedy, Darling, LeCras, Priddis (yes I can hear it from here), Shuey, Cox, Selwood, Gaff or Rosa on their list does not have them sitting in reserves on anything more than an occasional basis.

Worthy of note Taylor Duryea has played 15 games for Hawthorn this year. A regular senior player (yes they've had injuries).

He's a fine youngster, but he is not in our best 10 players if he we recruited him.

Most of our talls would. Some clubs especially are struggling for key position players.
Josh Kennedy was looking good for the Coleman 2/3rds into last season before he (and the side) jumped off a cliff. Only a crazy person would think that he couldn't get a game at any other club. Carlton are still pining for him 6 years on!

Different clubs have different needs,
At Freo we would happily take Mackenzie and probably McGovern Kennedy and Darling.
Sydney would want possibly no one.
St Kilda would take even Priddis;)
