Simple question. Which SA team finishes higher in 2026?

It's worth pointing out in the OP that because of the nature of the fixture, Port should have the easier draw due to finishing 12th in 2025 as opposed to last year's minor premier Crows. Still, it will potentially be an interesting discussion as the season progresses with the Crows not starting 2026 so well.

Nonsense.
Crows will finish top 6, Power bottom 6.

It's hands down Crows. I recon the only state based match-up that is easier to predict would be Freo & WC.

Crows have only lost to decent teams. Port have lost to bad teams.

In ports defence they haven't played any decent teams yet. If they play like the first four rounds they will get absolutely destroyed though.

They've had very different draws to this point. Adelaide have played two bogey teams away and two premiership fancies, and haven't started any match as favourite. (They've also had a lot of outs). 1/4 seems bleak (especially with all these narrow losses), but it's close to expectation.

Port have started the season with North, Eagles, Essendon and Richmond, probably widely tipped to be the bottom four. They've managed only two wins out of this. That's pretty bleak - they would have expected to be 4/0.

Yeah, this shouldn't be a discussion.

Port will probably finish bottom six, and the Crows in the wildcard spots.

Nonsense.

Top six is very unlikely. The Lions, Suns, Dogs, Freo, Swans and Hawks are better-rounded teams and should all finish higher.

Port keeping things interesting by jumping ahead of the Crows on the ladder with an upset win over Geelong tonight and the Crows face the defending premiers tomorrow at the Gabba.
