Melbourne. List was genuinely s**t, coach didn't have a clue, fractures everywhere.

Brisbane are underachieving big time imo. Their list, at least on paper, looks up to it. They haven't been belted around by injury like they were last year. Leppitsch isn't a moron. I don't get it.

Melbourne 2013 were the 7th-worst side in the VFL/AFL since the introduction of the 22-game season in the 1960s. Worst side to not finish last.

Brisbane because of location, players leaving etc

Melbourne have better exposure for players and sponsors potentially, third party deals

Third parties were knocking the door down to pour splash money into 2013 stars Dean Terlich and Matt Jones... The fact those blokes came third and fourth respectively in the 2013 B&F tells you all you need to know.

I look at this Brisbane team and see some talent with plenty of development scope, some still young but proven players down on form and a couple of players out injured who will improve the team.

Demons 2013 gave no hope of anything good.

Melbourne may have been slightly worse in regards to performance, however Brisbane have a far darker future than Melbourne did in 2013.

Wait until the end of the season, a few more talented players will be poached and they will be forced to trade them away for peanuts yet again. It's been a depressing trend for years now, they're down to a miserly FOUR FIRST ROUNDERS on their list. Opposition recruiters would already be in Schache's ear, it's actually quite sad that the AFL has sat back and allowed opposition clubs to pick apart their list and consistently rip them off at the trade table.

Melbourne 2013 was Brisbane 2016 but instead of beams being injured we just didn't have a second decent midfielder. Didn't have a Hanley after that either.

Season ain't over yet.

We have got another half to go to really see. And sadly, right now it could go either way. Things could get better but they also could get a lot worse.
