But even if I wasn't I'd think the promise of Hodge, Mitchell, Franklin, Roughead, Ellis, Lewis, Birchall, Bailey, Tuck and Dowler would get them over the line.

I think Geelong easily. Many people forget that they were premiership favourites at the beggining of the year and they also won most of their games after Round 12. Also they will have Tom Hawkins and maybe Selwood next year.

A geelong supporter saying that hawthorn is overrated is laughable.
Hawthorn were tipped to finish bottom 3 whilst geelong were tipped for the flag, yet we finished one spot below you and belted u by 10 goals twice.
So it seems your handbagger team are overrated.

Look at it like this, we improved by 4 wins on the previous season without 4 of our top 6 draft picks from the 2005 draft.

Just on Tuck, he had a couple of really strong games for Box Hill late in the season....I don't want to put the rapts on him, but he is progressing alot quicker then his brother did at the same stage of his development.

For a Tuck he is showing very promising signs

Hawthorn’s 1-3 year players returned to the Club today for the start of pre-season training in preparation for 2007.

The players will train three times a week up until Christmas. Today they were guided through today’s session by Strength and Conditioning Coach Peter Burge and assistant coaches Ross Smith and Todd Viney.

The 20 players arrived at Waverley at 8.30am after seven weeks break with the group looking fit and well, having maintained their fitness regime with individualised programs.

Travis Tuck has come back to training with a stronger frame and a well conditioned body and looks likely to make an early push for senior selection next season.

Beau Muston, who spent 2006 in rehabilitation from a knee injury, has started full training and will complete the same pre-season program as his team mates.

The training sessions will predominately focus on running and weights with kicking skills to also feature in the program.

The rest of the team will return next Monday 30 October.

Training times will be posted on the website next week.

Great thread

Hawthorn has more young talent than the other 3, and will go further in the next 3-5 years IMO.

Geelong: their race is just about run for the next season or two, should've made the finals this year

Richmond: Coming along nicely but more depth at Hawthorn

Port Adelaide: Again, some young talent but nowhere near enough depth
