Both Perth teams are quite tall, Freo because of their midfield and Eagles due to their KPPs and always having 2 genuine ruckmen.

Can't think of any team which would be taller than them.

Collingwood are amassing a formidable list of giants over 195cm:

211: Cox
209: Witts
204: Keeffe
203: Grundy
203: Wyatt
200: Moore
200: Gault
196: Cloke
196: White
195: Reid
195: Brown
195: Frost

How many can play in the same side is an interesting question, but given that there is an even spread of rucks, forwards and backs in that list quite a few could conceivably play together.

In fact, next year with Keeffe available I could easily see at least 5 players over 200cm get picked in the same side, which I'm not sure has ever happened in a real match.

Based on their last game, Gold Coast had the tallest line up at 189.0cm. Geelong, Richmond, West Coast and North all had teams over 188cm.

North have the three genuine talls: Petrie, Waite, Brown
Richmond do too when Griffiths plays: Vickery, Griffiths, Riewoldt. When Griff is out it drops back a bit.

Our best 22 could have Smith, Hawkins, Lonergan, Taylor, Stanley, Vardy, Blicavs and Clark who are all 195cm or over. That's 5 potential rucks in the same team :drunk:

NB Player heights are taken from that season's AFL Record Season Guide. Heights are given in whole centimetres only, but averaged to two decimal places here to illustrate small differences.

So historically Geelong, Freo, and west coast like to run tall.

On the other end of the spectrum, i'd imagine Hawthorn have been one of the shorter teams going around. Roughy, Gunston, Schoey, Lake, Gibson, Stratton and Frawley are all on the shorter end for KPP's now, with Lake/Schoey at 195cm and the rest below 193. Hale, McEvoy, and Ceglar are by no means giants among ruckmen, and guys like Mitchell, Puopolo, Cyril, Hill, Duryea, Hartung are all pretty short.

We have a pretty short midfield when you include Lewis and Shiels.

Howe will give us some height though.

Can anyone make like a tallest team possible without just being dinosaurs? I'm sure you could a fairly good team With an average height over 190 but still could play well

Not making a team myself but you would have to have Gunston, Roughead, Bliscavs, NicNat ect as they all move exceptionally well for people their size

It wouldn't be too hard just pick the tallest players by position.**

FB:Birchall 193cm - R.Thompson 200cm - Carlisle 199cm
HB: Schofield 195cm - Andrews 200cm - Yeo 190cm
C: Blicavs 198cm - Bontempelli 192cm - Everett 194cm

Has Sandi shrunk 3 cm?

Thats a loooot of West Coast losses, clearly didnt work for us. People blame the 2010 spoon year was on injuries, but maybe it was going far too tall? or did we have to play tall because of injuries.
In any case we improved a lot in 2015 where we don't make any tallest lists....

That's a pretty good team, and that's probably not even the "best 22"

Was a lot of worry Port were too tall this year, then someone took a year holiday...

Now all of a sudden we aren't tall enough already :)
