Please note: different views may be expressed. You have been warned.

I'm guessing sexuality, religion, race, gender, club you support, match reviews, jokes about players, humor in general.

Have I missed any?

Nothing is taboo goldenbear

... but you must be prepared to accept others will take offence and say so accordingly.

Isn't that the outcome you are looking for anyway ?

Controversial topics will yield up alot of polarising opinions and it can get a bit 'torrid' at times but if you choose to post a controversial topic, then obviously you are inviting this kind of exchange.

I thought your "who would you ilike to king-hit" topic was pretty dumb, and I said so. But I would be the last person to try and tell you such-and-such a topic is 'taboo'.

Maybe its because I have been a victim of a 'king-hit' (heck it hurt and I never saw it coming) myself is maybe the reasion why I didn't like your topic, but thats just my personal perspective and I feel I have just as much right to tell you I don't like it as you have to post it in the first place.

If you don't people telling you your topics are crap, then don't post 'em

simple really ....

cheers

LOL - I hate to agree, but mentioning the C word almost brings the cops around. People should be able to post whatever they like and others should be allowed to disagree. If someone was to suggest that Collingwood are going to make the finals, I should be entitled to disagree. Am I? Hell No. That's collingwood bashing no matter how tasteful or factual the comments. Things like that are what I'm talking about.

Tell me I'm talking crap, and tell me why. Let's put this out on the table so we can maybe come to a solution.

Well said BSA.

GB, post whatever you like I wont tell you cant post something but I will offer an opinion on it.

You said that people should be free to post controversial topics without watering them down so as not to offend anyone. Why does this not also apply to people giving their opinion of the topic? Or don't you have a sense of humour when it comes to criticism of your good self :)

cheers

If you read further along I pointed out that I was bemused by the suggestion that my post will ultimately give people the idea of actually doing it. As flattering as that might be, to think I can brain wash people into commiting acts of my choosing, it is drawing a very long bow and a little........well stupid. I have no probelm with people against my topics - that's never been the issue . The issue is of whether I shold have written "cream pie" instead of "king hit". For the people that this has happened to, I'm terribly sorry that it did - but in the cold light of day, you are a very small minority. To pull me up on not considering people who it may have actually happened to is insane. The funness is creeping out of this place and being replaced by trigger happy posters looking to take out their frustratons on someone.

I never said that you were giving people the idea of actually doing it. What I objected to was the idea that people would like to see anyone king hit. I think that anyone who would like to see someone king hit is a moron.

Minority or not I have the right to voice an opinion. You voiced yours, I voiced mine. The fact of the matter is that there is a difference between "cream pie" and "King Hit" and you know it.

To pull me up on not considering people who it may have actually happened to is insane.

I didn't pull you up on that. What I pulled you up on was the actual topic. I thought it was stupid. If you can't handle that, tough.

The funness is creeping out of this place and being replaced by trigger happy posters looking to take out their frustratons on someone.

No frustrations here GB old son ;) As I said, pPost whatever you like, just don't expect everyone to agree with you.

How about taking the 'let ye who is without sin cast the first stone' attitude?

Hopefully then these topics would die in the arse!

There is a simple solution to everybody's problems......If you don't like what the topic subject is, DON'T READ IT!!! The goldenbear made his intentions quite clear on what the topic was, warning you that the subject would be about "king-hitting". Yet, you continued to read it and based on your own personal experiences, didn't like what you read.

What I am curious about is what the difference is about naming a player you want to king-hit and somebody at your club who you don't like and think can play footy and want delisted at the end of the season??? Isn't this also a personal attack at footballers on the AFL lists??? What if the players happened to read that thread and read their name popping up hundreds of times. Isn't that also along the same lines as what you take to heart with your king-hitting??? Yet, people continue posting names without a care in the world and listing reasons including the player being fat, slow and apparently being unable to play football.

Just my opinion.

So you are saying if people don't like a subject, they shouldn't reply to it with their opinions, what a load of horse****.
If someone posts something that I either agree or disagree with I will give my opinions. If you don't want to get others peoples opinions, don't post.
This isn't a forum for people who agree with everyone elses point of view.

Nothing should be taboo as a subject.

However individual posters should be aware that if they post anything that is unlawful (eg racial abuse, homophobic abuse, defamation of character etc), then they may be banned, sued or pursued by whatever other legal avenue of redress may exist.
