I had alot of reservations about this initially but Paul Williams has been terrific for the Swans this year.

I can't recall what Coll ended up with when they on-traded those draft picks, but from our end of the deal, its been sweet.

cheers

pick 39 was part of getting holland clement and pick 22 to the club which was good for collingwood.
but pick 8 and ricky olarenshaw went to the kangaroos and collingwood got pick 39 back (cant work out why collingwood would agree to that - they lost a 1st round draft pick and a player)

Our deal rocks too!

WCE the deal was pick 8 (Holland) and pick 36 (I think, for Clement) which was a result of the Williams trade.

Holland has shown enough to say that he will be a solid explosive goal-scoring midfielder like Williams once his aerobic capacity can improve a bit. People must realise that the Leon Davis/Brodie Holland bench rotation has resulted in over 40 goals this year. Not too shabby!!

Clement is in our top five or six players for this year. Great skills and I don't think I have seen him beaten yet, despite playing on the likes of Hird and Jarman. Useful in any position!

Win-win like the Molloy deal.

West Coast are big winners from the Collica-Taylor deal at this stage. Nick Ries can play a bit, but he is a bit away yet.

Taylor was 2nd in a our B&F in 1999, but will probably only play another 1 or 2 seasons.

Collica on the other hand could always play, and is still pretty young. The problem was he wanted to return home, and he was just unfotunate in that Hawthorn already has quite a good defence.

Not so much a 'trade' but Dents being delisted (tells me alot that did) and the Hawks (WHY WHY WHY) picking him up turned out win/win.

Win/win for the Doggies that is. Not only did they get rid of a bloke whose past it, he played his best game for the Dogs this week (trouble is, he was wearing a Hawks jumper while doing it)!!

I'd have to say the the best trade all year that benefitted both clubs involved was Molloy/Michael. Molloy (last round aside) has been just the sort of player Collingwood's lacked in recent years, an enforcer to stick up for the young fellas, and a cult figure to boot.

And Michael's homecoming has been absolutely vital to Brisbane given Leppitsch's chronic injury this year. It's unlikely they would have won 11 in a row without them both.

If only there were more "honest" trades like this between clubs!
