How can the players which havn't even played a game yet be in this poll?

because some of us actually go and watch these blokes play underage footy and know what to expect from them. they are among the most promising under 21 prospects on afl lists, if YOU think they are too risky to pick because you haven't seen them then by all means pick someone who you have seen.

and i see you had no hesitation in voting for masten.

Would've gone Leuenberger but we already have Cox...so I'd take Joel Selwood.

i would've rathered people pick the player as if they're starting a team from scratch. i realise the way i worded makes it possible to be interpreted as who you would want for your team given the list.

Fair enough. Starting from scratch I'd choose a tall first (unless there was a small who was absolutely out-of-the-box exceptional, and that can't be guaranteed of any of the smalls in the poll), and of the talls Leuenberger is the only one who WILL be a gun, without any doubts at all, IMO.

So Leuenberger :thumbsu:

Since we already have Kreuzer, Murphy, Gibbs and Hampson to give us a gun midfield, I'll vote other and take Tom Hawkins ahead of Lachlan Hansen.

once again i'll repeat it can be a player from your own team.

and once again i'm made to look like a fool forgetting a player like tom hawkins. i thought so long and hard about the list too.

I wanted Hawkins ahead of Ryder and Hansen so we can offload Fev.

CHB is an overrated position we can fill with Waite and Austin.

yeah but still you're looking at it from a carlton point of view. if u think hawkins would be a better player to start a team from scratch if you had no.1 pick from the above players then that's ok.

pffft talk about soft i don't think i've ever seen deledio ever win a contested ball. sure he looks great when the ball's given to him and he can run with it but as soon as a little pressure is applied he goes to water. he'll be a really good player but never in the league that gibbs, leunberger, pendlebury, selwood etc. will be in.

My, your marquee player looks a little slow now dosent he?

lol, i stand by what i said that deledio is a great player when the ball is given to him. so i don't see what you're trying to prove.

oh and you're so blinded by your bias that you can't see judd is actually making up ground on him in that vision.

standing still compared to deledio at full pace. anyway, i couldn't give a toss either way. asafa powell is the world's quickest man why don't richmond go and recruit him as well?

Judd only makes up ground when Deledio slows to kick properly.

Being a below average footballer myself, you cant kick when your running at full tilt, normally you fall over. :p

1. Leuenberger - WC are short on young developing rucks and he's the best around. Would probably be hitting his straps around when Cox retires/declines.

2. Gibbs - potential to be a top-class goal kicking outside mid and would complement WC current crop of young inside mids beautifully. Would be very confident the WC development staff could get the best out of him.

3. J.Selwood - classy inside mid with lots of great attributes - only issues are re:team balance as WC have quite lot of young inside mids (but without doubt, Joel is better than all of them).

I chose Deledio, he would slot into the Hawthorn team perfectly, with the best inside mids in the comp Deledio would compliment our outside runners perfectly. With Deledio, Birchall, Young, Ellis and Tuck the hawks would also have the most potential in there outside mids of any team.
