I just killed one of those evil little pricks. SMASHED HIM IN HALF with my drumstick (not a euphemism). Check him out!



Saw him out of the corner of my eye, crawling along the wall. He was probably gonna ambush me later tonght when the lights were out. Serves the little ****er right, that's what he gets. I feel like such a big man and am very pumped up.

PS That spider is way bigger than it looks. You know how they fold up when they die? Well that happened. and my thumb is like six inches in diameter.

Yeah it was easily a foot long, if not bigger.

I actually had to get naked and wrestle the spider queen before I was allowed to lodge in this room.

She was a plucky customer but I earned her respect that night. We will have words with her for sending in one of her elite soldiers to try and covertly murder me in my sleep :thumbsd:
 
Well it is healing up ok, some slight ulceration but no necrosis thankfully. It still looks like something from a horror movie though, and still hurts.

Really, if you see a white tail, kill it with extreme ****ing prejudice.

I ****ing hate reading this thread but i can't resist!
Everytime without fail after reading it, i feel little itches on my leg and i immediately swat it away
Just before when i started reading it, I looked at the celing and sure enough a daddy long legs was making its web up there. The scary thing is, I just looked then and it was gone. Creepy, conniving little buggers

Nah, can't tell from the photo mate, I take it you didn't take any other pics of it....
 
You can find some weird spiders at certain places in Australia. At Port Victoria in SA where i sort of grew up, i once found a huntsman looking spider that was bright green and red. Apparently the reason is all the old trade ships from South America,Europe and Africa that landed there back in the day.
 
You never see any nasty spiders in Perth. I see a spider about once every couple of months. The only bad one here is the Redback and the Daddy Long Legs which does nothing.

It's healed nicely really, compared to some other pics i've seen on the net.
 
i hardly ever see spiders, i think it is coz we hav this this thing that buzzes and only mice and shit can hear it what we got when we had tons of mice, so maybe it affects spiders as well

Get them a fair bit in my house. Killed one a couple of days ago. I have no idea if they're poisonous or what they're called but I know that sometimes a ton of baby spiders just pop out and spread everywhere. :mad:
 
I hate this thread. I KNEW it would happen after I read this thread. One dropped on my face as I was laying in bed with the laptop, right onto the middle of my cheek. Needless to say I panicked and swatted at my cheek continously for about a minute. I just finished shaking out all my sheets and vacuuming under the bed to at least put my mind slightly at ease. No idea what type of spider it is though, I think it got swatted off on the first go.

Ah jeez, I hope I haven't jinxed myself by reading this post, because I'm laying in bed with the laptop right now as well. Knowing my luck, something similar will happen to me soon.

Haha, this thread has had a real negative effect on people, quite eerie, but it's sadly a reflection of the fear that spiders implant into us all.
 
Just killed a spider straight after i was on this thread a few hours ago, keep a bottle of mortein in the study where the computer is and i had to go off to the toilet and as i walked out there was a spider right in front of me on the ground.

Not sure what species it was but went back into the study and got the mortein.
 
funny you talk about flea's you start iching you talk about spiders you start seeing them i got off the computer yeatersday and went to my room put my bag on the bed and yes you guessed it a spider [ not a white tail] was walking along my bag weird all these spiders coming out after we read about spiders on the net
 
Yeh, believe it or not I was in the process of reading this thread a couple of nights ago.

Take a quick look towards my right and i see one of these clowns on the wall, go to hit it with my thong (:eek:) and what do you know, I have missed.

He then jumps behind the curtain never to be seen again.

I have a feeling he will come back for revenge and maul me while I'm sleeping.

Just looking at a large huntsman crawling up a wall just gives me the shivers. I had a few bad experiences of them when I was a little kid.

When I was 8, I was helping the folks to clean the garage for a garage sale. The problem was, that there were hundreds of spiders underneath all those old cardboard boxes, pieces of furniture, old junk, etc. and these spiders were big . Anyways, I had this large huntsman crawl up my arm, shook my arm in an attempt to get rid of it, and it bit me. That hurt really badly... and I couldn't sleep that night, for fear that one may be in my bedroom.

I have had some experiences when I was younger, but those were cases where a spider either crawled up my arm, or fell from the ceiling and on to my head. I've actually had one right in front of my face when I woke up one morning, it must have crawled into my sheets during the night. And it was a big one too, the size of my whole hand. Woah, let me tell you... I freaked out, jumped out of my bed and screamed. And for the rest of the week... I slept downstairs on the couch! I have dreaded spiders ever since. When I encounter a large spider, such as a huntsman, I keep my eyes on it, move very slowly to grab a heavy object, creep up to the spider and wham, no more spider.

Nowadays my fear has somewhat alleviated, but I still have that slight fear remaining. I guess I outgrew the irrational part, but still...
