My money would still be on the funnel web.
BUGFIGHTS!

If TLC wasn't currently in hell I would post a link to a thread with some epic Bug wars in there.

Spiders usually got their arses kicked. Japanese Hornet FTW! Those things are like the Bruce Lee's of the insect world.

Was reading this thread, and scared myself shitless.

Then, as im walking to get a drink, what do i see on the wall? White Tail.

I ran back into this room, got the Raid, and snuck back up on it commando style. Not since Arnie covered himself in mud in Predator have better precautions to avoid being seen been taken.

Got the bastard. That'll show them whos boss for another 10 minutes or so.

morell you ****, that video sucks.

Apparently it's the world's deadliest spider

Well, thats one reason never to go to Brazil.

This thread strikes again.

Last night I went to bed, turned the light off and got myself comfortable. Next thing I know I feel a little tickling on my left forearm, but seeing as previously that has just been my pillow brushing me I moved my arm and it momentarily stopped. It then started agin and having been made slightly more cautious by this thread I turned the light on to see a black spider running up my arm. Luckily it didn't bite me and it instead got killed by the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

So any readers who haven't been struck yet, beware!!!

Then you'll lose it. The Brazilian wandering spider has the most active neurotoxic venom out of any spider. Only 0.006mg is enough to kill a mouse.

Add to the fact that this spider does use not webs as a hunting tool, and goes on foot to hunt, hence the term 'wandering'. They're large, pretty aggressive and due to their hunting habits, there is a higher chance of them encountering humans.

I am yet to be struck from the 'BF White Tail Spider thread curse TM.

Yes. I am very scared.

I started getting tingles from that picture of the funnel web.

being scared of spiders I know I shouldnt open this thread but **** me i cannot help it.

That added to the fact the brazillian is about twice the size of the funnel web, my dad bought one taxidermed in a glass case it was massive, supposedly the size of a dinner plate when fully grown and stretched out! the guy also told us if the case ever broke not to touch it cause it hairs were still toxic and would case a nasty rash, probably not true but scared the ass of me!! The curse got me last night to, on the wall just above our bed my girlfreind spotted it (she was up reading) decent sized white tail, copped a thonging (out of raid) then i cleaned the wall, read somewhere their entrails attract other spiders? can anyone confrim or de-bunk this?

Weird looking spider in my kitchen, it's not very big, marginally larger than my thumbnail, but it looks kinda weird. I'm thinking it might be a scorpion?

These pics were taken with my phone, and I had to get pretty close, so they're dodgy quality.

Shelob FTW

The ex missus waited 30 minutes for me to get home from work one night because she refused to get out of her car due to a huntsman being on the windscreen.
I spend a bit of time walking around at night out bush, and even though it happens every 10 minutes you just cannot get over walking through a spiderweb. Whenever I go under a tree I use my rifle as a sort of guard to brush through any potential webs.

hate doing that no matter if you wipe yourself to get it off and it is off you , you still feel as if there is spider web all over you let alone maybe a spider in the hair totally horrid feeling after walking into webs , yuk hate it

Our old neighbours squished a white tail and the poison burnt a hole through the carpet. Luckily we don't have any problems with spiders, we have heaps but they are all harmless mostly small ones and daddy long legs.

I'm scared now though....

Two recent spider stories of mine.

1. About a month ago, I woke up and was still really sleepy and thought my cats tail was just brushing on my cheek. I ran my hand over my face and suddenly froze as i felt what I then knew was a spider squishing into a ball under my fingers. Ran to the light, and between my fingers was this dirty fat black spider. Was just a garden spider, but had a heart attack.

2. We came up to a police breath-test, and as we wound down the window, one of the bigger huntsman spiders I have seen ran from somewhere near the side-door mirror up across the front windscreen, turned around and started crawling towards the open window. Obviously we wound the window up so it didnt get through the open window and the cops thought something fishy was going on so he flashed his light on us, sort of put his hand on his belt haha.

I watched that Brazilian Wandering Spider video last night and felt like the bastards were crawling over me. It's amazing, I can go through a day without seeing one spider but as soon as I read this thread, it feels like they're all over my skin.

I've been hearing a bit about these camel spiders or sun spiders that live in Iraq from a mate who's serving over there, and I'd hate to come across one of these bastards in the night. My mate reckons these photos are very genuine.

Why does everyone use spray on the spiders? Why not just get 'em with a shoe?

Here's something I can't stand: the sound of someone's shoe SLOWLY squishing a spider - it's like bones cracking. My mate used to do it 'cause he knew I couldn't stand it - but then it's better than the spider being alive.

Once at a rental, my uni mates and I cleaned out the shed and counted around 25 red backs that we killed - some as big as a 20 cent piece. Only the females have a red stripe, so that's 25 FEMALE red backs - the stuff of nightmares.

Another thing I hate is the way that a huntsman runs.
