You have to agree with that Junction Oval comment, and I'd suggest that our facilities have been part of the reason as to why our player development hasn't always worked out.
As such, it's good to see that we're making improvements in that area.

That stood out to me too cannons & there seems to be a belief that it costs us 4 goals a game.
Not sure about that line of thinking but i guess it must have some impact.
But then again I can always go back to Rocky IV when Rocky went old school training in the snow in Russia & he won.

I also like how transparent he is with us fans and his use of modern media. But why would Freo fans be annoyed at him for his time at their club, I thought he did a good job there too?

Freo fans always have go at him and Chris Connolly. Dont know why. The fact is those 2 took that rabble to their only finals campaigne, only finals win and a top 4 finish. Hell of a lot better than anyone else has done there.

I think Freo improved even more off field than on over that period also. I'm quite sure Schwab instigated their purple haze day and would have been a big factor in sureing up their membership numbers.

They have been a monumental factor.
The thing that some negative posters who can Bailey and the club need to put into perspective is that (by our own standards and operations) we haven't actually performed that bad. Where we are at is quite good for what we can currently produce given our facilities.
The point is that we are NOT GOOD ENOUGH in 2010 football.
The reality is that the club/team will only be recognised as performing adequately by most critics when they are performing better than the opposition. In fairness they should be judged on the resources at hand.
Practically every other club in the competition is superior to us off field to the point where our CEO openly admits that we are starting games 3 or 4 goals behind - that is quite simply a mindboggling facet of where we are at and on some level I am surprised Schwab admitted that although I agree with him. To be better on field we have to catch up to the rest of the pack off field. OP is critical to this.
While i think our facilities arent up to scratch with the rest of the teams, and is something that the admin should be getting right ASAP, im not sure it means we start 3-4 goals behind a game though, and if the admin are passing that message onto the players its no surprise we are as shit as we are.
