The stats say 4 contested, 9 rebound 50's, 1 clearance, 1 i50, a fair effort for the third gamer, I saw plenty of him at Box Hill last year, and the best part of his game is his dual sidedness, which we havn't really seen yet.

Both are good efforts but Dangerfields 9 of 20 possessions contested (compared to 4 of 29), 5 inside 50's, 3 tackles (compared to 2) and 5 clearances (compared to 1) and kicking 1.1 in his 5th game. An away game would suggest it will be Dangerfield this week.

I haven't seen Dangerfield's game this week (or whitecross' for that matter) but if I had to guess I'd say they'd give it to the midfielder.

I have been a Whitecross fan since the NAB cup, I thought he would be the first 'kid' into the side this year ;)

I think he played very well. Made a few poor judgements and put some blokes undre pressure but I guess you just have to cop that for a first year player. Very impressed, lets hope he can keep it up.

Very impressed with his game yesterday, heard Croady on triple m give him a big rap before the game, and he certainly delivered with his cool composure and skillful kicking.

HBF playing in a wining side of a thrashing...

Fair point, however i don't think Beams really contributed as much to the pies as they didn't win, whereas i reckon you could make an argument that Whitecross had a very positive influence on hawthorn actually winning the game, with his kicking skills, pressure and counterattack run off half back. Beams was good though, i would like to watch the adelaide game too and see this texas ranger kid....

Has had far more column inches though ... and that's what really matters

Wasn't a consistent influence in the way that Whitecross was, but Walker's highlights were flashier than Whitecross'.

Whoever gets it this week will be well deserving. Beams, Dangerfield, and Whitecross all had great games. Let's just be glad there's such good talent coming through.

Walker will get the nod imo. He's been good all year. Dangerfield will get it next week.

each year there is one though HFC, Last year it was rioli, And in 2007 Smith deserved it a lot longer before he got it. Those are the two off the top of my head. you look bac k though, and there will be more.

It is going to be a tough week for the panel

Great small defender, very good with the spoil as well as with his disposal. Played on ROK last week and did a good job there as well. What a bonus to have a guy like this come into our side. Rick Ladson's position is in danger.

Yeh maybe, but don't forget the quality Ladson brings to this side. This ain't no one horse race by no stretch.
