I'm sure everybody has seen the Herald Sun today so I am just wondering from people that have been at Carlton training, has it been greatly blown out of proportion or are we facing a serious problem?

Concerned about Stevens as he shouldn't be having these battles. Correct me if I'm wrong but in the photo accompanying the article, Lance looks pretty good and his face looks quite thin. It's not adding up. Then he has been cycling ahead of his training partners, didn't tail off last in the trial. I might wait before believing this article.

I went to the time trial and Lance looked fine to me. Stevens also was okay. They both ran better times than at this stage last year.
Stevens always comes back a few kgs over and works his way through it.

Did it at Port and has done it for his 2 years at Carlton.

Very professional player who has no weight problems once the season starts to being fit.

No way is Lance 108kgs and 8kgs over what he was when he left.

Typical Sun garbage. Throw in some talk anout his contract and Stevens about being a supposed leader and what do you have?

A smear campaign.

Both top 3 in the b+f last year and fitter than they were at this stage last year= no problems.

Nick stevens will never have muscle tone. he has one of those flabby looking physiques even when he is super fit. a bit like craig bradley.

Does it really matter how fat Whitnall is? Stick him in the forward line, if he can mark and kick goals who cares. Look at Tony Lockett

Look we are trying to FILL a hole in our forward line so Lance is just following instructions.

In all seriousness I thought I read somewhere that Lance's time trial was better than this time last year, so he cant be too unfit - just another chance to have a go at the Blues while we're down... It's gonna be so sweet when we are back as a force again!!!

In todays news Nick Stevens explained that he was resting his sore groins over the break and that already he is only 1.5kgs off his playing weight.Lets say Lance came back big and fat, its only November.Id rather he be fit for round 1 than even the N.A.B Cup.It seems that only the one newspaper mentioned this boring conversation where the others are focusing on the draft.I still hope that with a late pick we can grab John Baird

I was speaking to a mate of mine, who is not far away from being a Physical Education teacher... and his lecturer and sport guru at some University was telling him that it would virtually be impossible for a proffessional AFL player to put on 10KG's or thereabouts during the off break.

They are already in peak condition after the footy season - Lance's peak condition isn't overly great - however he finds it immensley hard to believe that Big Red or any other player for that fact could stack on 8-10KG's in a couple of months when they are AFL footballers.

He said the only way that it could be done is Steriods, but Lance wouldn't do that.

Sure he has put on a few kilo's, but weighing in at 108KG is hard to believe.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Gaining 8 kilos in two is a hell of a lot for anyone, let alone a professional althlete. He must have been eating heaps of junk to gain that much in such a short time (if true).
