Did anyone else get stung by the parking inspectors patrolling Whitten Oval on Saturday? I parked in what I thought was a car park but was actually a no standing zone. I counted about 40 cars with $100 fines. I'll pay but I'm pretty annoyed that the council and/or the club doesn't arrange adequate parking around the ground on match days.

Yes, apparently u need some kind of pass or permit to park at the ground. We got there just after 2.00, so there weren't any spots left anyway. We then spent the next 20 minutes trying to find one grrrr, so we missed the first quarter.

What is the coucil supposed to do? Pull down the no standing sign for the match? It is typical though that they took advantage of the situation by fining ppl. It is also a bit difficult for the club to organise parking...u cannot just create parking spaces where there are none. The ppl in the car park at the ground were not at all helpful....and i think that was the problem. I don't think the club would have expected that many ppl to turn up to the game either.

The same thing happened last year when there was a practice match on.

I think if you remember back to when the Whitten Oval was our home ground you weren't allowed to park in there unless you had a permit.

I think it is fair though tha they had some of the car park closed off because lets face it....you want your players to be at the ground on time and not driving around tryingt to find a car park. There was no reason to close the whole car park though.

Well if it wasn't last year it has happened once before when Werribee were playing a game before the Bulldogs practice match, because I remember cracking it
