Rivalry is an unending debate. With the help of message board members beginning in 2014, we—the students and professors of the Know Rivalry Project—began answering this question and others related to rivalry in North American sports, and now we’re expanding internationally to the AFL. Please help us expand our study to ensure that the Gold Coast are included by taking 9 minutes to complete our newest survey:

https://umassamherst.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3FdJ8eN2EgFCfCB?grpID=1428&mbsrc=mb

Our previous results have been featured in numerous sports media outlets, as well as the Wall Street Journal and New York Times. Thanks to the message board community, we've added data to the rivalry debate. You can view those results, links to media coverage, and learn more about us at our KnowRivalry.com website BUT we'd prefer you didn't until you completed the survey via the link above... we don't want to influence your opinions provided in the survey.

We use the Qualtrics online survey software for data collection. This academic research has been approved by two US universities' Institutional Review Boards (IRB) and it poses no risks to respondents. You'll find more information on the disclosure agreement that is required to start the survey.

Thank you for helping us to include the Gold Coast by participating and please share this with any other fans that may also help.

Because of Jack best jnr eva Martin and Carlton screwing us?
not just that. I base it on the fact that it has dated back to 2012 when we 'got Ratten sacked'. From that moment we've had some great games where there has been upsets, hard battles and we've also been in the same areas of the ladder most of our life in the AFL. Now both look like they are potentials for finals which will be exciting and there could possibly be a Suns v Blues final in the near future?!

Has to be Brisbane, Steven May knocking out half their team and Touk and Zorko battles easily top anything else

With our projected paths and young stars, Fremantle will rival our success and we are both the states 2nd club with no premierships. Not a real rivalry but will be 50-50 games in the future. Rowell, Anderson v Serong & Brayshaw etc
