Rhodes said some players were running ahead of the contest, and other were simply content to man up and let other players take care of winning the ball.

So whos on the hit list?

Heres my list-

Power
Alves
Guido

It would be easier to make a list of players that man up, tackle and are hard at it.
But as it is your thread I would like to add.

Eagleton
Garlick
McMahon

And (wait for it)

Brad Johnson

I would add Eagleton McMahon and Garlick to that list. I wasn't at the game but I think you are hard on Guido and Power. Apparently Guido's second half was very good and although Power made some very clumsy errors he is still learning.

Sammy is still young and very slight, he shouldnt be playing in the seniors. Seriously all he seemed to to yesterday was jog around and follow his man, even when we needed someone to present to receive the ball. Definately in the class of someone willing to let someone else work the ball.

the heard suns stats are the best because they list clearances, clangers and other intersting stuff.

Our best clearers yesterday were darce and west on 6, then dimma on 4, then johno and murph on 3, then macmahon on 2.

Bandy had 9 disposals of which 5 were clangers!

Garlick had no clearances, but was equal best with robbo and basset on tackles, all with 4, followed by west, darce and hahn on 3.

Hahn might not be getting the job done with respect to clearances, but I think we have to percevere and let him have more time on the ball...gotta learn.

Johno had 4 f50s, 9 d50s and 10 marks. That speaks of lots of hard running and linking up. 3 clearances and 1 tackle

opposed to west who had 4 f50s 5d50s, 6 clearances and 3 tackles. Also a lot of hard running there, but a more balanced game in terms of ball winning and defence.

We need 3 wests.

Darcy
West
Kritter
Crofty
Robbins
Hahn

The only players who put their body on the line meaning attack on the ball.

Waiters for the ball.

Alvey
McMahon
Bowden (does provide an option but can't take pressure marks)
Power
Johnson (Needs to add some up and under work to his game)
Guido and Smith (to a lesser extent than the others)

Simply not good enough

Eagleton
Garlick

Having side that with a bit more aggression and team set up and most importantly renewed confidence we can turn it around.

The team would instantly be more accountable with Cross and Faulkner in the side. They are hard at it.

I think Browny goes in a bit more than people think.

He creates an nonchallant image for himself, so people think he isn't really a goer. His work rate in trying to keep the ball in our forward has been pretty impressive imo. His 2nd, 3rd efforts have improved big time.

And Bruton. Not that he's particularly hard at it, but he'll provide a ruck contest and free up Darce, who's a hell of lot more valuable to us as a running midfielder/forward.

Every touch that Faulkner had against Sandringham was pure class, plus he went in and got his own ball.

Cross was the same, but with a little less class.

Crofty has to play in defence on Lloyd this week.

I would prefer Lloyd to get a week for his indiscretion,Croft can play on Lucas.
Interesting you mention Bruton. Essendon are not strong in the ruck dept and it could be an opportunity to play Bruton in the centre square and play Darcy forward.
