Haha yeah, was thinking this the other day, how they've spent the best part of three years trying to make it past week one while we glided into a GF.
They have only won two week one finals since 1995.:(

Weak board and bad culture.
The shit that went down with Bartlett and the stigma associated with it is still around.

They breed complacency.
"Cotchin is a good leader" (gets 9 touches in a do or die final)
"Hardwick had us beat Hawthorn who one the flag" (Hasn't won a final in 6 years at the club)
"were building" to what a QF win? Carlton won a few finals only 4 years ago not 25 years ago.

They need to start fresh. Sack all the board, the old cronies who have jobs for life and bring some fresh ideas and a whole new board, one with a guillotine who wont rate making the finals as a success and start cutting off heads.

Untill they finally cut deep and really evaluate their goals and stature as a club in the AFL they wont go anywhere. My Dad's a Richmond supporter so I've been to alot of thier games and feel strongly about them and their plight to win their first final in 15 years.

We are very lucky to support a club that's underlining function in life is to win games of footy and chase flags like a rabid dog.

Hawks and Sydney.

Think even at our best...those two will still be trouble for us

Richmond also supplement their team with mature age players from the Vfl , Neafl .
Yes they are good honest players but all lack talent and have limitations .
When you have too many of these players your team starts lacking talent and is limited .
Their captain is also an overrated pea heart hack

Freo might do 'revenge of the dinosaurs' this year but let's wait and see. Richmond do have potential, but underperform due to an inter-generational heart condition. I reckon our (and the AFL's) larger fear in the long term is the potential for a merger of two or even three Victorian mid/bottom dwellers, such as Essendon and Richmond (lol), Melbourne, Carlton. Sadly, market pressures may dictate such an outcome:-(

Injuries and complacency.

We proved in 2015 that we can beat anyone. We were the only team that did.

Also consistency. There are also a huge number of intangibles that need to go your way in order to win the big one. Its insanely hard to win it, thats why you have to admire the Hawks (goddamn them)

Sure, but their key forwards/backs are atrocious going into 2016.
The only quality is Johnson (31) and Pavlich (34).

Alex Pearce looks promising, the rest are very meh. Taberner in particular looks to be a major spud.

It warms the cockles of my heart that the majority of the purp-a-derps want to persist with the lad because he is literally their next best option. If he's in their starting lineup 5 years from now they will well and truly be up sh*t creek.

One of them tried to compare his output last year to Kennedy's third year and said, yep no difference he's progressing fine. Nevermind the fact Kennedy was younger...

WA Angels tend to keep my up, not sure why...

My feeling is that we are the best team.
However, a few injuries can make a huge diff.
Same with rules and interpretation.
The AFL/VFL will be gunning for us.
Hawks will be there but are aging.
Dockers are gone, Pav and Sandi too old, Fyfe long term injury. Although I'd prefer Bennell to spearman
Dogs have Liberatore back and could be good.

I feel like these should be the lyrics to a song.
