Which player are you hoping will have a big year this year?
From my club, the Swans, I'm hoping that Adam Goodes will have a big year and re-capture the form of his 99 season. I'm also hoping that Ryan Fitzgerald and Jason Saddington have big ones too.
One player in the AFL I hope has a big one is David Wirrpunda I reckon he's a great talent and a potential Brownlow medallist it was a bummer he got injured last year because he started the season so well.

Gavin Wanganeen. Just playing most games would help

Stewie Dew is another who can set games alight, with his 60 metre goals coming at a more regular rate now that he's really fit (everything crossed!).

Easy.

Chris Tarrant has easily kicked three goals in each of his two games of the Ansell Cup. He did this without being outstanding or busting a gut and having ample time on the bench.

I think if he can lift a cog for the real season, he should comfortably get a three goal a game average. Optimistically, I think he is a class above that and with any luck could average 4-5 goals per game.

I think he should at minimum bag 60 goals this year, if he plays 20-22 games.

If he fires in the same amount of games, I think he is a 80-100 goal forward.

Tarrant = Tallent.

Matt Primus.

Ex-Geelong, Fitzroy, now with the captaincy of Port. A resolute stayer who makes a damn fine gas bottle.

Michael Braun - to prove himself after getting over injury. Very important to our side.

If I can keep the rest of the Blues players playing at the same level as 2000 (inc. Kouta when he was playing) then I'd choose Brendan Fevola. He has real potential, but is very very inconsistent and his kicking is not very reliable....yet!

I hope Evan Hewitt, Matthew Robran, and Matthew Bode all have big years for the Crows, somewhere in the 30 goal region each would greatly improve our forward line production.

As for the rest of the AFL, I hope Paul Kelly does well this year and returns to his best for the Swans.

What the hell is a sensible football-related topic like this doing here?

Crawford to play like 99.

Croad to become more effective.

Thompson to remain injury free and dominate.

Rehn to prove himself the equal of Salmon (for Hawthorn... he has already proved himself at the Crows)

- I would love to see Robert Harvey have his first injury free season since winning the 1997-1998 Brownlow Medals.
- Jason Cripps to make a successful return from his chronic hamstring injury that has kept him out for three years.
- Steve Lawrence to emulate the deeds of his old man
- Brett Knowles to silence his critics and establish himself in the best 22
- Lenny Hayes to become one of the most talented young players in the competition.

Im hoping Wirrpunda has a huge season and that he gets back to full strenght. Brownlow hopes right here.

And i hope Cousins has a huge year this year also, now the co captain of the club so lets hope he can really lead by example on the field.

Wouldnt be surprised if both are All Australian come years end. (Everything crossed)

For Essendon
I'd say every bomber fan wants to see Rioli have a good year and personally I'd like to see Jacobs play and do well. If we have a good year and these two step up the salary cap is really going to hurt at the end.

For the Kangaroos, everyone will be hoping Anthony Stevens can have a good year after what happened last year. Of the newcomers and fringe players, several will get a run, and while most eyes will be on Sav Rocca, I will be keenly watching Daniel Motlop who has shown some freakish ability in the VFL and practice matches so far.

Monstaa Thommo

If he repeats his ansett cup performances in at least hlf of the games this year then the press will be positively drooling over him

- He's a scarey sight when he's on fire.
