What are we after in the 2005 draft? We would obviousley need a key defender to replace the ageing Presti and Wakes, and a couple of midfielders with leg speed would be nice, throw some names up at who we might want in the draft. throw some names at me.

Some players we could go for with out pick likely 3-5th pick would be beau dowler who could bea nice kpp could turn into a nice attacking chb

We need quick tall talented midfielders so with our next pick someone like travis Varcoe or xavier Ellis..

But really we need to up[grade our midfield and fast!

A Draft wont do anything for you. You're always going to be crap.
You Need:
A new coaching staff, A New Team, a New Cheer Squad leader, a New guernsey a New home ground and a New Hair Cut

Jimmy i think you are overrating some of your palyers there. As we tend to do with ours.

I agree with Laycock,Bradley,McPhee,Lovett are quality. Monfries Stanton and Dyson could be good but to say Monfries is the next Hird is plain ridiculous.

At this stage, would have thought the 'pies would enter the draft around pick 4 or 5. Not sure how quick he is, but you might look at someone like an Andrew Swallow.

My tip is that Ellis, Murphy (if he doesn't go to Brisbane) and Hurn (not that he's that quick), will have all gone.

Spot on Blues fan all those boys will be gone before we pick. This is not a good year for midfielders, the next best midfielder might be a South Australian called Travis Varcoe. I've only heard favourable reports because I haven't seen him play. He's playing senior football for Central Districts and has pace but is he worthy of pick 5 or 6? Matt Spangher is a good CHB prospect but isn't worth an early first rounder. Our best play might be to have another crack at Stevens, he's their only tradable commodity and the Blues need a complete overhaul.

Are you from mars?! Just because a player gets a rising star nomination it doenst mean they will be good eg jason cloke! You guys have the second worst list in the competition after carlton! Lovett will just as good as leon davis is now! As for your other players they are so good that i havent heard anything good about them!

let me start on the pies! Alan didak (goal sneak, exquisite skills can player in the middle), Josh Fraser (future star ruckmen and forward, just needs to put on weight, evry agile for a bigman), Richie cole(quick and creative, skillful) Egan(same as cole plus athletic!) Rhys shaw(quick courageous and his kicking will improve just like benny johnsons did!) benny johnson (good half back flanker), C3(going to be a gun CHF, has allready proved alot) C2(will be a very handy tall), Chris tarrant( Top 2 or 4 forwards in the comp and will improv, extremely skilled, strong and quick)... look i am getting bored, no time for id ots like you

doesnt seem he rates Winderlich, i wouldnt mind getting a crack at him and he may be going cheap....he is quick, gets in there, although he hasnt shown a great deal in his career at present, i still think if he is going cheap we should have a crack

The reality of the draft is that we will have opportunity to pick 1 very good young player and then it's pot luck in a draft described as ordinary by the scouts. In spite of our need for midfielders if there is a quality ruckman available at our pick we should take him. Our ruck stocks are nothing short of embarrasing and it is hurting our midfield no end. If there is no ruckman available then we have to go for pace adn skill in a midfielder and keep taking them with the next few picks and hope we can advance their development.

More than likely we will get a promising midfielder who won't play much decent footy until 2007 at best. If we want a midfield we have to trade for it.

I kinda agree with this.

I think we really should starting looking to fill the young ruck and tall backmen stocks.

Between Rhyce Shaw, Ben Johnson, Alan Didak, Julian Rowe, Dane Swan, Heath Shaw, Brayden Shaw, Chris Egan, Adam Iacobucci, Ben Davies and even Sean Rusling (a lot of people say that he's seen as a future midfielder) we should be able to piece together a decent young midfield.

So, from there, we could look to trade for an established midfielder to help that group out.

Trade for an experienced ruckman in the draft to help your young ruckman develop.

Couldnt work out why Collingwood didnt do it last year as there were quite a few changing clubs

Need to offer something - like cole or lonie or obree with a mmid range draft choice and hopefully grab a ready made player....someone hard in the back line - although that could spell the end of Rhyce Shaw - he would be back at WIlly playing with his brother and cousin who have so far offered not much - does anyone no how far away these two are.......

Could you Essendon supporters leave about now?

In the draft we need someone who can kick bags of goals and can mark... we also need more ruckman and midfielders... the only thing we don't need is defenders
