Who Do You Take

You are forming a new AFL side and are allowed to chose 1 player from any list to be your star recruit. Who do you take? and Why?

Judd may have a lot of God-given talent, however...

I'd pick Cousins. He's a great leader, fantastic player, hard worker, very marketable, very hot and West Coast's most popular Eagle.

Through his popularity, I would build up a huge supporter base that would, in turn, rake in stacks of $$$ and enable us to lure in the best coaching and playing talent in the country.

Cousins' grit, hard work and love of footy would be the benchmark for out team. This will ensure that we win multiple, and quite likely successive, premierships. We'll be such a triving organisation and have so much money, we'd be able to buy out all of Northbridge and give it to Cuz as a gift on his retirement. Then again, maybe we shouldn't encourage him

Do you think we could reach such success if we picked Chris Judd as our star recruit?

And just look at them. How could you not pick Ben Cousins??

A fully fit J. Brown. Great target up forward, good contested mark and a lot of mongrel. Then:

2. Judd - best player in comp
3. Cox - best roaming ruckman
= 4. Cousins - great work ethics
= 4. Goodes - great athlete

Brown is never fully fit though, he is brilliant but id rather take Hall as a key forward because he is always on the park. Brown needs a good 12 months off and should be back in 08.

Hard to split Judd & Brown

Both would bring plenty to a new club on the field.

But it is off field where there marketability would be of most value

Whoops, voted Judd thinking it was just a question of who you want at your club. Of course if forming a new team the first thing you would go for is a dominant CHF. Brown is the only player in the comp that consistently tears the opposition apart, with no opponent able to stop him. If he doesn't take 15contested marks all over the ground he'll kick 8 goals. While Judd is a true freak no player asserts as much dominance over the game as Browny.
