I've thought all year it has to be GWS and i won't jump off despite the fact i don't think they are the best team. IMO GWS v Melbourne or Richmond is the most likely Grand Final and i would put a tenner on either of the Dees or Tiges getting up at the MCG. It's wide open in 2017 and while the "Blacktowners" have the best list Melbourne and Richmond are better teams. Now, Melbourne V Richmond would be great.
Id be happy just to win a final let alone get to the grand final or win a flag, love your optimism for our chances however we lack a 2nd tall fwd to seriously challenge unfortunately.

It really looks to be GWS v Melbourne! I've stuck with the Giants all year but I've got a feeling about Melbourne now.
Knew they were good watching the 2nd and 3rd terms against us, they were fantastic despite missing every shot.
Can the swans make a late run? Not many teams look capable.

Nobody wants to win it. This season is crazy.
A few weeks ago I was still confident the Dogs could do it, not so much now.
If GWS can get a decent team out there, then they are my pick.
Aside from the favourites, Sydney, Essendon, Port, Richmond, Dees. All these teams are capable of winning the flag if injuries and form go their way.

If swans can beat Melbourne this Friday they will make finals I reckon however I expect melbourne to win which will make it very tough for them.

Who's the overly excited Geelong flog running on full turbo ? Look at him go !!

Sides change from year to year. Hawthorn evolved from 5 wins in 2005 to a flag in 2008. It's why we've gone 4 wins, 7, 10 and who knows how many this year. I doubt we're a premiership side, but I do know that only dolts with a limited intellect judge our 2017 on our 2016.

I also know that we can cope without the best ruckman in the comp, a gun young key forward, and a prime moving midfielder, who also happens to captain the club.

Imagine Geelong without Hawkins or one of Dangerwood. Hopeless

I get Melbourne, just wonder if it's a year too early. Their list and Coach have little finals experience.
That said the critical games left for us in the H/A series are the two against the Cats, we need to finish on top of you guys and make any finals matchup at Spotless I think. And Melbourne who've actually beaten us the last two years to establush some sort of superiority going into finals. Not fussed if we play them at the G, we have to play and win there to be successful at some point.

Maybe so, but the Tigers have built a "team" and although GWS are better than all of us, The Tigers and Dees are playing better team football. I reckon at the MCG in September in 2017 anyone has a chance. What a cracker of a game coming up this week.

Geelong are posing as a flag contender. Won't win it.
Don't let our recent poor record v your side cloud your judgement.

We have no problems handling Adelaide and the Bulldogs (anywhere, anytime), and our two games against GWS last year showed there wasn't much between us (a 13 point loss away, and a 10 point win at home).

I don't know any GWS fans so them winning it wont be that bad. at the end of the day you don't a team to win it cos of their fans or a certain mate or a person you know. you don't want to see them happy etc. I just hate port and their fans so that's why I don't want them to win it.

you guys for the mid season blues.... Plenty of time to come good
The good old Dennis Pagan quote "you cant go down to the corner store and buy confidence"
The confidence is shot.. so much the Blues will beat us this week and then you will see the panic button being pushed and meltdown.

We are, mate. We've got more talent across the board and are playing better footy.

We would have accounted for you earlier in the year, bar for injuries in game.

I think that Port and the Giants are the two most likely to win the flag.
in your mind do you count losses as wins? Geelong won that game, nothing can change that. Every team has close wins and close losses...
