In 2014 you were bullied by Hawthorn. That was when they were pretty 'unsociable' and i think the intention was to knock you about as much as possible physically with very little regard for the consequences. I think it was partly because you were such a young side as well.
Our 2014 side was the exact same age as Hawthorn's. There were, and are, absolutely no excuses for the "effort" that was served up.

Adelaide will win it. I think if you're a team that heavily relies on one or two players you won't win.
The only teams in the Top 5 that don't rely on one or two players are GWS and Port.

Crows: Sloane
Geelong: Dangerwood
Sydney: Buddy and Kennedy

Meanwhile Port are struggling to get a single player in the rolling AA team despite being top 4, and GWS have 22 stars on field when fully fit.

Every side in the league relies on their best players.

The myth that Geelong are a two man team is the gift that keeps giving.

One of the more uneducated theories that keeps getting repeated.

Sloane had the least amount of possessions against Melbourne on the weekend (he played until nearly 3/4 time) and the team won by 8 goals. The crows have 2 crouch brothers who have been ball magnets all season and add into that a number of very fast outside players - they are going to cope fine if sloane is tagged. They could even decide to use sloane to run with the oppositions best player rather than let him get tagged himself

That's because the Dees also rely on one or two players: Jones and Viney.

You're not wrong. Didn't think it would happen but somehow it did.
It was always going to happen, once both of them were on the park for long enough together. Brad has been on an upward trajectory for the last 10 weeks, he will be a weapon come finals. It's the first season he's had a decent run at it.

But they rely on Sloane. So that should rule them out under that criteria.
Early on yes, but lately we're starting to learn how to play without him, and the Crouch boys have stepped up especially.

Big test is can we do it without him against a top side, considering he might not get up this week we may find out on Friday night.

The distribution of Port's and GWS' talent is considerably more leptokurtic than that of the Crows, Geelong and Sydney however.

Someone did an analysis earlier in the year that found that Port and the Bulldogs have the smallest GINI coefficients, i.e. the least variance in player ratings between their best 22.

By that logic GWS are the only team that can win, as Port, despite not relying on a few players, have failed to beat anyone decent yet.

wouldn't that have a lot to do with Dangerwood; Sloane + Buddy/Kennedy being so much better than the rest of the comp; let alone their own teammates?
