A lot of the time they have to guess based on last year's results and who they think will be good this year, so it is a bit of luck. Nobody would have expected Melbourne or North to be winning lots of games and playing an exciting brand of footy in 2026. But I agree that it is really frustrating when their guesses are wrong and we see poor teams stink it up in prime time.

Double Friday night games are dumb, especially when it means you have a big gap on Sundays with no games starting until 3pm. I can see maybe it makes sense on Easter Sunday or Mother's Day when people are busy doing other things, but what's the reason this week?
