We knew about the following and given that Lekkas will be offered a one year contract, who, else will depart the nest this year?

HAWTHORN
SIMON BEAUMONT (retired)
NICK HOLLAND (retired)
ANGELO LEKKAS (out of contract) - ONE YEAR? :thumbsu:
STEVEN GREENE (out of contract) - GONE
JOHN BARKER (out of contract) - VERY GENEROUS LIFELINE
JONATHAN HAY (traded to Kangaroos)
NATHAN LONIE (traded to Port Adelaide)

MATTHEW BALL?
LUKE BRENNAN?
NICK RIES?
BEN KANE?

My reckoning tells me that we need to free up a few more spots on the list.
We will use picks 3, 6, 14, 18, 22 and 37 (Tuck).

So far we have spots on the list for Hay, Lonie, Greene, Beaumont and Holland.

I hope JB's body holds up and he plays on.

Young will get promoted.

Therfore we need to delist at least two or three more players depending on who is likely to slip through to the preseason draft.

I think Kane and Brennan will stay. I think Ries has a contract.
I think Nixon is already gone, Ball will probably go and Scott depending on if we decide to participate in the PSD with the possability of picking up McLaren. :thumbsu:

Switch Matthew Ball for Ben Kane and you've surely nailed it.

I hope they don't delist Kane, I think he could use a chance under the new coaching pannel. Others seem to have improved with our current system, and I'd think Kane should be given the opportunity.

However, Ball still has another year to run on his contract doens't he? I think Clarkson said he wouldn't be delisting anyone who still had a contract. I hope Kane doesn't get delisted because of this.

I don't understand how so many people are saying that they don't want to see Greene get delisted. He is not a very good player. he is a box hill footballer at very, no AFL standard. Maybe he didn't get as many chances as say Nick Ries, but still he is a average player whom we don't need.
