Who else would love a decent pie?

Agree with Pieface being worth a visit, though I'm not familiar with Villi's

Just had a steak and mushroom from Pieface. Took one bite and it fell apart into a mess of puff pastry, meat and gravy. Was overpriced at $5.75 before it had the abortion.

The Rolling Pin in Ocean Grove and Queenscliff do good pies, won a whole bunch of Best Pie In The State awards. :thumbsu:

Another vote for Vilis, how they get their pastry so flaky from frozen is beyond me.

Parker Pies in Rutherglen. First class.

I am also a fan of the pies (and the sausage rolls particularly) that the larger Coles supermarkets sell in the brown paper bags. Not found in the frozen section.

As a fall back, I can go with Sargents or Herbert Adams. Won't go near a Four n Twenty for love nor money.

Pie Face is good. Loooove the Costco pies though. The crust can go soggy after a while, but the meat is delicious! Chunky, saucy, everything good!

Can not believe no one has mentioned Harry's Cafe de Wheels! All located around Sydney and Newcastle AFAIK, but they are amazing. I always hunt one down whenever I'm in Sydney. Get a Tiger pie into you and you won't be sorry! Chunky beef, topped with mashed potato, mashed peas and gravy. Bloody unreal.

No nominations for Perthites that I can see yet.. but Fremantle Bakehouse ones are alright (love their chicken pies), reckon they are better than the overhyped/overpriced Miami Bakehouse that rakes in the awards.

Dunno how handy you are in the kitchen but I've made the Masterchef Beef, Onion and Guiness pie three times and love it. The sour cream pastry is a bit rich though but sounds like you'll love it.

Haven't found em anywhere else unfortunately but Surfer's Pies from Dunsborough bakery are always a must whenever I'm down south, best pie I've ever had.

They were. Dunsborough bakery is nothing like it used to be.

The little one down the mall on lions park is where it's at these days. Nothing like those things after a good acid trip and weekend of surfing. :p

Frozen pies? Dubious 'meat'? Cardboard pastry? Not including sauce?

Get yourselves one of these:

This man knows his SW pies. They have a pizza pie I enjoyed once after about 10 pipes with my cousin. Never been game to try it again

Dulwich Bakery makes a mean Pie anda great Sausage roll. so does Pat ta cake in Malvern.

Waikerie (Orange Grove) Bakery used to make a mean pie, but I have been there in many many years

A Place in Murray Bridge used to do "Savoury Pie" which was pie filling in a cheese and bacon roll.....
