Also I think St Kilda could've easily been put in this group. They are going backwards and have nothing coming in to address that.
They went 8-4 over the last 12 games with wins over Geelong and Sydney. Think their good finish to the season has snuck under the radar

North will surprise. Can see them finishing around 11-12th

Can’t see it yet based on North’s last few games of this (2024) season

So on that note I see it as

Adelaide
Daylight
North & West Coast

Didn't they play their last few games without Comben and Logue? Both are key structural pieces. I think they'll be sniffing around the bottom of the 8 for a decent chunk of next year

If North trade ins pay off they could easily be in that middle section of the ladder next year alongside the likes of Adelaide.
They have structure now with 2 KPFs and 2 KPDs, their young mids are a year older, Xerri has proven to be very good, if as rumoured they get Parker theyll have some leadership in the middle too. \

Primed to go, if they dont go up the ladder this year they may as well be relocated to Tas. Surely there is absolutely 0 excuse this year

I see Adelaide due to the experience players like Dawson, Laird even Rankine developing into a gun exciting player. Crows backline also has developed a lot and their forward line needs some work.

Our club North could reach 14th spot we need to concentrate on winning and no more draft after this year. November’s draft is very important for us and it’s all about picks for us so we need to be very wise who we grab.

Our forward line is the area that needs the least amount of work. Our midfield/Ruck and backline is the area that needs A lot of work

Should be Adelaide>North>WCE, you'd think.

Having said that, anything could happen. Adelaide should be making finals, if not, Nick's is gone.

North should've improved this year but somehow ended up worse than WCE, despite WCE sacking their coach midway through the season. Their failure this season would be a significant worry, after expecting to rise, however their off field acquisitions this off season should significantly improve their B22 and address those areas that let them down this year

WCE have a new coach and have raised the floor of their best 22, although losing Barrass will significantly weaken the defense, one would think.

Will they get a bounce with the new coach and injection of better players replacing the spuds that were gifted games the last couple of years, or will it take a season for them to gel?

Cumming, Neal-Bullen and Peatling are strong, mature inclusions.

Thilthorpe, Curtin, Dowling, Taylor, Soligo etc will have another pre-season under their belts.

Draper can impact straight away.

Rankine can be a top 5 player in the comp if his body stays in tact.

It HAS to be Adelaide, or something has gone very wrong.

All three have brought in some solid inclusions to their 22.

Adel- ANB, Peatling, Cumming.
North- Darling, Daniel, Parker.
WC - Graham, Baker, Owies.

Reckon these adds almost cancel each other out.

Norths improvement should be more rapid and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them surpass Adelaide. West Coast may dead cat bounce and win a handful of games but still finish second last.

Reckon there will be a couple of clubs that both Adelaide and North will surpass (as well as WC and Rich) next year. At least one of Melb, Ess, GC or St Kilda to have a backwards year seems quite likely.

Adelaide should play finals this year.

Have a bit more depth and another year into some of their younger players. If they can get a full year from Thilthorpe I think that will make a big difference.

Their double ups are Gold Coast, North Melbourne, Port Adelaide, Collingwood, West Coast, Hawthorn.

Should be at a minimum 2 wins from WC and North, 1 GC, showdowns are always tight and they tend to out play us so at least 1 there and a minimum 1 win against Hawks/Pies.

That’s already 7 wins from a conservative estimate based on their double ups. Win another 6 games from the remaining 12 odd games and they’re in quite easily.

Can’t see North making finals yet and certainly not WC.

Give me xerri, LDU, wardlaw, Sheezel, Simpkin, Parker, mckercher and Powell over whatever midfield crows have

Larkey, darling, Zurhaar, Curtis, Duursma and co will kick more goals than Tex, fog, rachele, rankine and co

The rise of the Roos starts next year and it will be rapid

Not sure you are going to live up to username this time. ;)

Crows midfield group is better than previous years - O'Brien, Rankine, Dawson, Soligo, Crouch, Peatling, Sholl & Draper.

Forward line you have missed our likely most dangerous player - Thilthorpe with Fogarty the mainstay talls, with Tex being phased out you will see a bit of Curtin to. Keays, Rachele, ANB & many of the mids will rotate forward.

Backline looks solid enough with Murray, Worrell, Keane, Hinge, Michalanney, Laird & Cumming.

Key this year is we have more useful depth.

Hard to say who would finish higher out of the Crows or North.

I'd much rather North's list moving forward, but they may be still too young to take a more significant step in their development this season to overtake the Crows.

Agreed, we're firmly at the point that heads should roll if we don't make it.

However, it will come down to how we go against that 9--14 group. We've been pretty awful against teams in that region in the last two years, with a 1-4 record in 2023 and a 2-5 record in 2024. Fix that up, and it goes a long way to bridging that gap alongside our kids not stalling out with development.

7 wins is a successful season for North and West Coast? It's all about November for them.
