Who gets the rising star nomination for Rd 1? Likely to be either Sam Lalor 18 possessions, 2 goals and 8 score involvements, or Murphy Reid 13 disposals and 4 goals.
My nod would be Lalor who was in everything, however Reid's 4 goals in 10 mins is pretty special. Whoever misses out would be stiff.

Reid had 7 score involvements. You should mention that in the op considering you did for Lalor.

His first goal was also selling candy and running around the man on the mark. It was an amazing burst for a first gamer away at the Cattery.

His team got smashed but that just makes it so much harder for a first gamer playing forward.

If it was reserved and his game was Friday night, the media wouldn’t stop talking about it.

Yep oversight on my behalf as didn't realise young Levi had such a great game. Have added him to the poll along with Trainer and Kako.

Levi was good and had an excellent final quarter particularly. But early on he did miss a few targets, nothing major and something he'll improve on.

Lalor or Reid for me this week I think. Great set of first up performances though, very tough.

Was a great game by Lalor and credit to him. Feel it should have gone to Reid this week though, reckon the fact his team suffered a blowout loss cost him (not his fault).

It is a tough one already and I only saw Lalor and Reids games.
Just for the record though everyone is saying Reid kick 4 in 10 minutes, it was actually 4 in less than 4 minutes, (only just over 3 minutes) in a side that got smashed.

Won't be too long before guys like Reid, Ashcroft, Trainor, Lindsay get nominated.

Reid turned around a deficit to a win for the dockers? Last i saw they lost by 78pts so while his 4 goal burst was a great 6 mins it had little affect on the result.

What’s with all the Freo sooking?
There were some really good performances from first gamers this week that showed they will be players long term. Reid was one of them.

I would say not.

Lalor had the better stats less turnovers more dispoals, more score involvements played much more complete game, Murphy Reid had a great cameo role & looks like he will be a great long term player for Freo.

I don't get why Freo fans feel like their player was robbed, because you weren't.

Cant really complain with Lalor getting it, he was one of the game changers, impacted across a large part of the game.

They'll all get their turn and recognition, every week someone deserving probably misses out.
