It was amazing that Gray wasn’t even Port’s leading vote getter. Didn’t Boak finish with 21 votes?

not down playing Boak’s season, which was also exceptional.

Hard to split. They both had about as good a season as you could have playing their respective roles. People will go for Gray because he's classier and flashier but Wines was phenomenal this year.

Gray absolutely dominated the midfield and regularly went forward and kicked 2-4 goals. I mean the fact Gray had more clearances than Wines says it all. Not trying to down play Wines' season but Grays was a whole other level.

Gray's 2014 Brownlow performance was enough to turn me off of the concept entirely. Joke of an award.

Anybody who doesn't rate the AFLCA MVP as a higher honour than the Brownlow doesn't know football. And that goes for this year too if we're being honest. No way Wines had a better year than Clayton Oliver.

There was very little between Wines and Oliver.

The two most ridiculous aspects of this years count were Bont scoring nothing but 3's, and Sam Walsh scoring 30 in an embarrassingly poor football team, and in doing so doubling Robbie's 2014 tally.

Wines was a deserving winner and the favourite going in.
