If you have read it before, what are your views on this topic...

"Xavier always thinks that Rugby is his one true love but as the novel proceeds he is not too sure."

Please... Discuss... i would like to hear your interpretation of the novel.

You mean James Moloney?
It's about a year 12 student who starts to question his life and values after he meets a girl called Nuala. Is that the one you mean?

Here's some inspiration for you...

When is your report due? I like the sound of the book and I might have a look for it tomorrow. I need something to get me through my 3 hour law lecture tomorrow night because contracts & torts just don't do it for me.

Sorry Bucks probably too late now. But if this helps try it.

I haven't actually read it, but my best friend is a school teacher and her students are currently studying it.

The story is abuot masculinity or at least what is perceived as masculinty and the male role in todays society. How males respond to what is expected of them

The character is a footballer because of the hype a role like that brings. The male bonding and mateship, the reluctance to showing of emotions etc.
The character of Nuala is a challenge to that role.

The title of the book is about emotion and allowing yourself to be open to emotion. Men are not conditioned to "touch each other" emotionally. Such as helping a friend get over a broken relationship or a personal crisis. Males are usually expected to get over it alone.
Basically in the end the story is all about opening up and being true to your emotions. Xavier was in the end touched emotionally by Nuala and Alex.

Probably too late to help you now though.
