Always a bit of fun debating which club has the best group in each part of the ground. Some lineups will obviously change post-draft, but this shouldn’t impact your ability to pick the best of the bunch for now.

These lineups are what seem to be the general consensus on each team’s board (mixed with a bit of my opinion) - if you disagree, by all means let me know where I’ve went wrong:

Adelaide

FB: Brown Talia Doedee
HB: Laird Keath Smith

Brisbane

FB: Hodge Adams Gardiner
HB: Witherden Andrews Rich

Carlton

FB: Plowman Weitering Simpson
HB: Newman Marchbank Docherty

Collingwood

FB: Maynard Dunn Langdon
HB: Howe Moore Crisp

Essendon

FB: Gleeson Hooker Francis
HB: Saad Hurley McKenna

Fremantle

FB: Ryan Hamling Logue
HB: Wilson Pearce S.Hill

Geelong

FB: Bews Blicavs Henry
HB: Tuohy Henderson Stewart

Gold Coast

FB: Harbrow Thompson Collins
HB: Hanley Hombsch Ballard

Greater Western Sydney

FB: Shaw Davis Haynes
HB: Williams Corr Kennedy

Hawthorn

FB: Stratton Frawley Hardwick
HB: Birchall Sicily Impey

Melbourne

FB: Jetta O.McDonald Lever
HB: Hibberd May Salem

North Melbourne

FB: Williams Tarrant Daw
HB: McMillan Thompson Vickers-Willis

Port Adelaide

FB: Houston Jonas Byrne-Jones
HB: Burton Howard Hartlett

Richmond

FB: Grimes Astbury Vlastuin
HB: Short Rance Houli

St Kilda

FB: Geary Austin Roberton

Didn't mention it in the OP, but I'm also backing West Coast here. Perfect mix of players who can perform shut down roles, intercept and rebound effectively.

Definitely not North, we are too top heavy and we struggle with the ground ball gets and providing small defender rebound. Our medium defenders outside EVW are fairly average one-on-one.

West Coast

FB: Schofield Barrass Sheppard
HB: Jetta McGovern Hurn

As good as his grand final was Schofield won't get a game if Sheppard is back most likely, makes us too tall.

Duggan or Cole would be in there.

I think our back 6 with Dunn and Moore back in instead of Greenwood and Goldsack which it was in the grand final seems very good on paper. Though I'm not sure if we've seen the 6 together like that so I have no proof. Dunn in particular was sorely missed in the GF and maybe could have kept Jack Riewoldt a bit quieter too when we played Richmond in the prelim.

But because we have rarely fielded that back 6 so far I'd have to say West Coast has the best back 6, Richmond 2nd.

Gleeson instead of McGrath
Redman is my bet. Certainly impressed, albeit in two games.
Gleeson could take some time to return.

i used to rate our backline in the top 4, but its less solid than it once was.

I do like what the Dees have built.
Dees
Tigers
GWS
Hawks

top 4 for me.
