I was talking about Gold Coast's speed compared to GWS's. I think Gold Coast is faster.
sorry , I hate sheedy , the only thing he is interested is the dollar, as a richmond supporter, he used us everytime his contract came up with Essendon to negotiate a better deal, then after 25 years with Essendon, and they want a fresh face he decides he wants to go back to richmond, I have despised the guy and wish he would be banned from punt road

Oh, we tried to do deals for established players.

"It is understood Essendon could have acquired the rights to GWS-linked 17-year-old O'Meara by handing over Tom Bellchambers two years ago.

This year GWS offered up the rights to Jack Martin, considered an astounding midfield talent, for Essendon's Carlisle."

Regrettably, as a Carlton coterie member has recently pointed out, many club back offices are just terribly, terribly bad and thats all there is to it.
I don't buy those claims. I simply do not believe that they offered O'Meara for Bellchambers in 2011. TBC wasn't that good back then - he's not even worth around pick 2 now after he's had a break out season. Carlisle had shown promise for a while but if he didn't break out in 2013 I doubt GWS would be claiming they tried to trade Martin for him. It's more likely they want to look like they were trying to cooperate instead of collecting first round draft picks (which was actually the smart thing to do - it just pisses off the other clubs.)

Martin hasn't had a chance to show what his capable of but he is more than likely going to dominate the AFL. And O'Meara is far better than Treloar and Whitfield put together they'd be better than O'Meara but i'd rather one gun midfielder and one likely star than two mids who are both average.
Whitfield and Treloar are average? You have no clue.

If you want to look at who has the better list look at the Magoos.

How many GC players who can't crack a senior game are on other club's radars? How many will they lose?

How many of ours?

I regularly read the names of Jaksch o'Rourke Buntine WHE etc in other threads as players likely to be poached. I don't recall seeing too many GC 2nds players named. I'm happy to stand corrected and be schooled on the magnificent depth of the suns but going forward I like our depth a lot.
This. I'm pretty sure you guys had 6 who were taken in the top 5 of their respective drafts who didn't play on the weekend and yet you still had at least as impressive a win as Gold Coast, who have a year head-start and who's talent doesn't run anywhere near as deep I don't think.

The AFL (and the clubs who allowed it) have pretty much ensured that GWS would have to fall asleep at the wheel to not get multiple premierships in the pretty near future.

Could that better depth be due to the fact you currently have about an extra 8 players on your list, an extra 4 years to reduce your list and have received a heap more concessions and first round picks than we did?
Bloody oath. The AFL were and are desperate for GWS to succeed and have gone to incredible lengths to ensure it happens.

Griffen
Marchbank - pick 6
Pickett - pick 4
Ahearn - pick 7

Might not have played many games but high quality players on the injured list.
Griffen yes, the other have barely played. Tambling was an early draft pick. Where you are drafted are irrelevant.

Only Griffen is comparable to the guys the Suns are missing.

Just a quick memory jog gives me the names;

Phil Davis
Devon Smith
Aidan Corr
Will Hoskin-Elliott
Cameron McCarthy

Those injured players wouldn't get a start anywhere else - would they?

Strange argument really. They could all be potential superstars, no doubt, but completely irrelevant in terms of their being missing impacting their team right now. Devon Smith and Phil Davis are big ones that should be included though. But overall impact on team structure, the Suns are just absolutely gutted.

I really think the Suns have a very solid list, they just can't get them all out there. I don't think I've ever seen a team as cruelly hit by injuries as the Suns of the last couple of years. And it's terrible for a club no one really cares about, because the scorelines of the last month plus look terrible and no amount of injuries will convince people they aren't doomed.

Davis yes, but he's played all but 1 game this year. Devon Smith, yes a jet. Others are good ordinary players.

Hallahan, Sexton and Rosa also out for the Suns.

Just saying that whilst I think your list is better at the moment, the Suns have been hamstrung for a while due to injuries.

Not saying they're not.

But we're not rolling with 40 fit guys either.

Seconds away. I guess your argument speaks for itself though. Giants would almost certainly be 8-0 if Pickett was playing...

Who is? Giants have continuity and now consistency and confidence rolling through the club. Means much more than people give credit.

It must be noted that I got an enormous amount of enjoyment watching today's game, but can't help feeling for the Suns overall.

Yep. He was the difference in the Demons and Swans games

Probably no-one, but for us to be missing Corr, Davis, Marchbank, Greene and Smith who are arguably in our best 22...
