West End Draught, for those unaware of it, is God's way of letting South Aussies know there is something that tastes worse than our tap water. Before being Port's CEO, Mark Haysmans job was to make West End Draught appear to be more palatable to the public.

Seems he is now faced with a similar task in making Port Power more popular, Not just as a club to support but as an employer. Given their best player wants to leave and they are struggling to get a "name" assistant coach is he doing a good job??

Has he succeeded in doing the same with Port?? Similar product. There are plenty that are passionate about it, then there are some who like it but in secret. The rest of us find it in poor taste.

West End is pretty average stuff. If it was the only thing available I would drink it. 1 to 2 beers would make my stomach feel gripy and give me a sick feeling. I was able to push though it eventually by my 3rd or 4th beer. After that I was ok.

It was hard enough trying to swallow watching the hawks get spanked by your lot, let alone trying to swallow that shit they try to pass off as beer.

Your scenario may have been somewhat of a blessing however, as I have no doubt that even only 17000 of these ferals would have exhausted the day's supply of West End before I had the misfortune of purchasing any.

Fair dinkum, those Port losers would no doubt take to that crap like the Russian army took to brake fluid in WWII.

Silly thread. Nothing wrong with WED.

I was in SA recently, up in the Gammon Ranges near Grindles hut. Got lost and my drinking water sprang a leak, then the truck broke down.

I was covered in flies and dust, stumbling through the stony hills, looking for a place to die when I came across a slab of WED. Ice cold it was, the dew frosting the outside of each gleaming red can. I emptied the beer on the sand to spell out "HELP" and a passing chopper picked me up.

So don't badmouth the WED, it has its uses.

I can't believe that West End and Southwark are brewed in the same state as Coopers. Southwark must be the worst beer in Australia (even worse than Swan and Emu Export, for Chrissake) and West End is probably as bad as WAs poor efforts.

Coopers is magnificent!!

Lion Nathan owns the West End Brewery and Lion Nathan are Japanese owned if i'm not mistaken, so you can't blame us for that cats piss passed as beer.

By the way, Coopers is wholely and solely South Australian, and it's the best beer made in Australia.

Coopers >> West End Draught >> VB >> XXXX and West End Draught is shite, that says a lot for the the last two.
