I don't think it should be Vloss after HoleGate.
He argues a lot with umpires, like Selwood does.
(Selwood should never have been appointed as captain, he barks at his teammates.)
Vlaustin is a great player, don't get me wrong.
I think the captain should be someone who is calm, like Cotch is.
Calm under pressure.

We have a few to choose from but no stand out pick imo.
Jack, Vlas, Graham, Sheds, Meatball, Lynch, Dusty, Nank, Grimes, might have missed some.
Impossible to know who without being close to the group, they all have strengths and weaknesses, there is no obvious Hodge like pick.
Meatball because I like the way he speaks, no nonsense calm confident personality.

Players would run thru brick walls under Nank or Dusty

**** the media, they can take a long walk off a short pier
Nothing but clickbait false reporting scum they are

Another good example of a captain is The Bont.
You hardly ever see him remonstrating or whingeing, unlike Selwood.
The Bont just quietly gets on with the job of supporting his teammates, by being the best he can be.
It was a tremendous performance by the Dogs versus Port, given they did not even have a training session in the lead up.

Why would a Dogs player whinge to umps? You don't bite the hand that feeds you...

Dusty would be perfect
Would hunt a flag relentlessly to officially become the goat

is the spiritual leader like greene at gws
Has the players respect and love and would be the perfect man imo
Graham not ready
Vlastuin doesn’t want it apparently and not sure grimes/lambert/lynch would get the same lift out of the group that Dusty would from the outside looking in anyway

The more I think about this, the more I reckon Jack's our man - even if it's just for 2022.

I reckon this group has 1 massive bullet to fire next year. Recruiting Tarrant at his age suggests the footy dept thinks the same. Making Jack captain next year fits the strategy.

Jack's a natural. Current VC, polished speaker, team player, natural leader. It would be a shame to appoint one of the younger brigade whilst naturals like Jack and Grimes or Edwards are still there, There's plenty of time for Jack Graham to take over the captaincy with the next crop of youngsters under his leadership.

Imagine winning the flag next year then farewelling 4 x premiership champions/captains Jack and Cotch. And if we don't. It's due recognition for a champion of the club.

Or perhaps they would go through the brick wall when Dusty or Nank throw them through it for not doing what was asked of them!!!
Respect the captain, but perhaps not a bad thing to be a bit scared of them?

It will be Tom Mitchell or Jaeger Omeara, I said it here first

You may commence melting now lol

Could we do co-captains?
Although I haven’t ever liked it when other teams have done it, they have often done it with 2 young guys to spread the load.
I think we could do it with Dusty and JGTI. Dusty the on field and behind closed doors leader, leaving Jack to play with less pressure and take the media duties which Dusty would hate.

Neil Blame said we won't have dual captains on SEN

The more i think about it after listening to what has come out from the club, I wouldn't be surprised if Dusty takes it for 2 years to give Graham the opportunity to develop a bit further.
