look at the 15th post. agree to disagree then. far superior hey. care to explain how you came to that conclusion?
By the age of 22:
Swallow had won a BnF,come runner up in another and made the AA sqaud. Adam Selwood hadn't won anything up to the age of 22

and adam is now turning 27 and is 4 years older than swallow but still hasn't achieved what swallow has in his short career

whats david done to be top line? brilliant talent,no question about that. hasnt backed it up with performance yet. im hoping he does become top line, because us footy funs will be in for a treat:thumbsu:
I utilise my superior football talent spotting abilities to arrive at my conclusion.

There is no condition for games played in this thread, the only criteria is that the "family" be "current" and play "football".

lol i'll make a poll david swallow vs adam selwood and you will realise how wrong you are.

btw joel selwood is only just better than andrew and thats being generous. would love to see joel play for a shit team and see how he performs

He'd probably get 60 kicks. Wouldn't be anyone else to pinch them from him, And he'd win the Brownlow by about 15 votes.

it would be careers up to the age of david swallow atm.

so pretty much swallows junior career vs selwoods junior career because thats all we can compare them on

Here's how you'd do it.

'Your team is playing in the 2011 Grand Final. There is one spot left on your team, and you can choose to fill it with David Swallow or Adam Selwood. Who do you choose?'

That way you're not comparing apples to oranges by comparing Swallow now with Selwood 8 years ago, or comparing Selwood's achievements to Swallow's when Swallow hasn't had a chance to achieve anything yet. You're just comparing their current football ability.

but if you want to compare joels junior career. ill take joel..
i dunno about that, david was an AIS graduate, larke medalist at 16 years of age, AA under 18 member at 16 years of age, 4th in the VFL best player of the year as a 17 year old and to cap it off he is a number 1 draft pick

Best player in league & semi-ok-if-he-gave-a-crap-guy > Very good player & one OK player & a semi-OK player > Good player & semi-OK player > Bunch of OK players

Abletts > Selwoods > Daveys > Mortons or Jettas.

Most in the wce camp already look at scott as being better than adam now. All will by the end of the season.
Selwoods win by sheer numbers not necessarily quality.

Sheer weight of numbers means Selwood's win but like a lot of people i wouldnt be suprised to see the Swallow's swoop on the best family award once it becomes Joel and Scott vs. Andrew and David.

Revisit in a couple of seasons time is best way to go atm

Abletts & Selwoods are essentially one player families. the lesser brothers don't offer much to the argument.
Gary Ablett probably by himself beats (not literally of course) all of the families, but as for the most entertaining I'd love 2 c the Daveys in the same team

The Sellwood brothers are currently the best. They have the most premierships between them and the Geelong Sellwood is the best of the bunch.

However, the Swallow brothers will be better than the Selwoods in the next few years. The NM Swallow is a gun and the GC Swallow will be in the top five players in the comp within a few years.
