Took a look at the top 5 inside midfielders in the AFL according to Champion Data

Interesting to see how they stack up against each other.

What do you think?

I'd say Cripps is the most dominant inside-midfielder around stoppage/contested and clearances wouldn't say overall he the most complete midfielder though.

Stats say Neale wins more contested ball than Cripps - insane.
Contested ball is contested ball. Clayton Oliver can win 3 contested balls in a minute but it's because our midfield handballs it 2 mtrs. I don't even really care for stats on this one. Right now Cripps is the best

Dunkley and Bontempelli have cases as well. Personally think it's Bont, due to his cleanness in the cliches. Has shown unparalleled domination in multiple games where everyone else couldn't handle the pressure or the wet. Probably hurts that they throw him up forward too much but leave him there and I think he'd be outright.

Hard to split Cripps, Cunnington and Neale in terms of inside ability.
If I were to pick one player it would be Cripps due to being more versatile around the ground.

Just his absolute dominant best today.
Did a one handed pickup in the wet, won one on ones and aerial contests. Kicked goals. Defended.
Watch the game if you want to see a brilliant individual performance.
BOG by a mile. 3 votes.
2 more of these games this season and he'll win another Brownlow.
