and you have a forward line packed with stars

hird- 28 goals

moorcroft- 19
long- 15
etc etc

15 players in total who kicked more than 10 goals for the year
lloyd kicks 100 and you reckon he is over rated
you obviously dont see too many goals over in fremantle

I can't agree that Lloyd is overrated. Anyone who kicks a 100 goals in a season has to be able to play. in saying that, he is nowhere near as good as someone like Lockett who kicked 100 goals in a shocking side and made to earn every one of them.
Cousins can play but his disposal skills are still not as good as they could be.
For me, the overrated player in teh league is down to two.
Gehrig - there is no way he is worth $500,000.
Tredrea - here is a guy who gets plenty of plaudits yet can't kick to save himself. He has that word "potential" but is way overrated.
Silvagni has also been living off his name for too long as well and whilst he has been good in his prime his wrestling is a farce and the sooner the umpires have the courage to call them, teh quicker he will be exposed.
Have to agree with the others, there is no way players like Hird, Carey, Ratten and co. are overrated.

Lloyd's a star, no doubt about it. And others who have bagged Hird, Carey, Ratten, Cousins etc etc. need to have a good look at themselves. All are matchwinners, and in the case of most of them have proved their quality over a period of 8-10 years.

have to agree with you on Gehrig. Talented no question, but a heart the size of a pea. Collingwood are fools if they want to pay him 2 mill, over 4 seasons. What a way to waste a good part of the salary cap. Good for the other 15 clubs though.

hmmm, I shouldnt be postin on a saturday night! should be out, oh well nohing is happening.
Anyway on the Gherig thing, I think the price Collingwood is going to pay him is too much. However I think we still have lots of room in the slaary cap at this stage. We have recently lost some big money earners from the club, including Sav, so this has freed up some dough to spend!

Dockerbabe - a Player who is grossly over-rated in your team is Tony Modera. This guy has had his day and is shocking! (I dont think he kicked a big bag in a game for Freo this year) I think 2001 will be his last season in the AFL.

Please spell his name right if you are going to bag him. Granted, he has not had a good year but he has still kicked over 50 goals and yet missed so many games through injury, mainly due to that crude tackle by McIntosh. He kicked 6 goals on one of the top defenders in Fletcher and he has a few things going against him:
1. He would probably get the worst delivery by his teammates than others in the league. If he had ppl like Kemp delivering to him he would easily get 4-5 goals a game.
2. He always attracts the top defender in an attack which has not functioned well.
3. He works extremely hard to keep the ball in the forward line when he does not get it, unlike that fat blob you have sitting in the goalsquare.
4. He provides leadership and helps the youngsters in Pavlich.
5. Ask any Crows fans whether they would have liked ot have Modra back for the last two seasons and the next one and I think that will answer your question.
