Who should we take with our draft picks?

IMO the 180cm guys have some growing left in them. They'll hit the ideal 183-88cm range for midfielders. People were uncertain about Nathan Jones from Melbourne cause he was 173cm around draft time, now 180cm and highly rated.

Indeed...thought I had developed dsyexlia

Yeah WTF?

Yeah IP!!

What gives??

It's a trick of the light... ;)

Nah - just felt this was more reflective of my personality... without changing things too much (ie "IP" still works)... I'm not an Imperialist... more happy to identify with the infinite nature of the universe... all hippy stuff being the vego Freo beatnik that I am... :thumbsu: :D

Looks kind of weird after all this time, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. ;)

Works for me!!

Based on your reasoning, I am going to ask Ripper to change mine to

MadRooterSexGod.

If available, we will pick up either Masten or Palmer with our first pick, no doubt about it. Gourdis for the second round.

Amusing. Yet with you in the middle of no where......................... who/what is it you interact with?:D

I know what you are implying poshman.

But I promise you that I have changed my ways since my holiday in the US.:thumbsu:

My two cents:

Pick 7 - I think any of the options for our first pick will be good picks. Really its up to whose available to select. I think Myers should be added to this category in case Masten or Palmer is taken. Myers would then move up into contention as a taller option than Rioli, though Rioli's pace and class would be fantastic.

On a downside I've heard Masten's a massive Weagles fan, but I guess we can convert him. Plus he's similiar to guys we've already got like Josh, Hase, Belly and Macca. Though then again he should end up better and none of those guys are young anymore!

I think Ebert's the dicey selection due to his links with Port.

Pick 24 - From those listed, I'd go McGinnity or Grimes then Gourdis. I'd only go for Veszpremi if we took an outside player like Palmer or Rioli with our first pick.
I think the younger Selwood might come back to bite us on the arse. Joel's been stated as the best of the bunch and I don't rate the first two Selwood's at all. Adam is an absolute log.
Gourdis sounds like a fantastic option if no midfielders suit at this selection.

Pick 40 - Arrowsmith would be awesome at pick 40 but Jacky sounds like a decent replacement.
Greenwood could develop into a new Solly if the other two are gone.
Farmer sounds like a hundred other players which doesn't mean much, he still could end up good, just the other guys sound more exciting.

Pick 56 - Harry Taylor is the standout here. We need another rucking option and sounds a lot like Magic Johnno.
The others all have something going for them and are hard to separate with no prior knowledge of their gameplay

Picks 72,88 - I very much doubt we'd use these, although I think Matt Moody would be a very, very worthwhile inclusion. Although I agree that Sampi might be better off in the purple horde, he's not worth the risk, so he's a definite no.
Harves wont pull the trigger on these anyway coz I have a feeling he's going to go for Kepler Bradley in the PSD. Perhaps he'll also pick up Moody there or perhaps his teammate Ash McGrath.

Does anyone know if McGrath has signed a contract yet?

Anyway, all in all, there's going to be some changes to the list next year. Get excited :thumbsu:

Pick 7
Rhys Palmer - Able to break the lines and that is what we require.

or

Masten - Finding the pill is a great skill to have in any side.

(Reserve pick - Rance)

Pick 24 & Beyond

Gets hard here ....probably the safe bet is a Pears (key defender) or Gourdis (though his draft performance may see him go top 20) we would be fairly happy.

From there look for a slider or two.

I have no idea what the mock drafting is meant to be ....

Maybe a athlete trying to be a footy player type .....Chris Kangras speed, endurance and a nice height at 193 cms (was 2nd in th U18 National as a 400m runner - also did very well in the repeat 30m sprints at draft camp). He lays a few tackles too from his TAC stats. I know this is fraught with danger but if he was there with our 3rd rounder ...I'd be estatic.

Grant Ford - midfielder from Bendigo ...would love to get him as a rookie- captain and F&B winner ....these are the guys who have the leadership and drive to get the most out of themselves.

It is all a big crap shoot after round 2 really.
