Who steps up and cements a spot?

i got a feeling Keane will surprise a few next year. Im hearing he did some good things in the VFL in some games this year and will only get better with another pre season and experience.

I also think Noble who hasn't even done a pre season with us will take another step.

Hoping the Tyler Brown hype is true as well. Needs to win a bit more footy though.

Question is, who is going to make way?

Aish, Mayne, Varcoe,” and C Brown - all a touch vulnerable.

So, in their positions:

Quaynor/Noble/Murphy/Sharenberg or Daicos/Sharenberg/T Brown/Broomhead, and Daicos/Broomhead.

Will depend a lot on our injuries of course.

He’s already made way - to Freo.:'(

Four players l am hoping make an impact next year. Sier has to step up in 2020, l know we signed him for a further 2 years, but his chances must be getting thinner by the season. Love to see him back to that late 2018 season form, and if he does, will change the dynamic of our midfield.
Beamer l'm hoping is over his injuries and his mind is sound, and more importantly he is enjoying life and his footy. If he can keep everything together next season, l expect him to again be one of the premier players in the comp.
Quaynor l see cementing his spot as the season goes on, now with Aish gone, the opportunity is there for him now, and l can see him taking it and running with it. Good head on his shoulders, looks a professional athlete in his personality and his preparation. Think he will be one of the better young players in the comp next season.
Murphy is the one l want desperately to see get fit and play senior footy. Looks a terrific athlete for his size, can run, uses the footy well, is a exceptional talent. If he stays fit, like IQ, l see him being a regular come senior footy.
Other notables to put pressure on these guys for spots, Johnny Noble, Wills and T Brown.

I'd also go with Quaynor, Sier, Murphy, in that order.

IQ has the body and physical tools already to get the job done as a small lockdown defender. Probably has a vacancy too with Aish leaving and Levi missing the first part of the year. Moreso if Langdon is slow to get back up to speed. He is probably competing with Noble for a round 1 spot.

Sier is important to our growth as a team. If he can get his 20+ possessions in the midfield a game, it is big for our depth and outside players, given the creativeness with his handball and the quality of his footskills. We need him to take a spot to free up more time for the likes of De Goey, Sidey, and Beams more time forward, Treloar and Pendles to outside mid / wing roles (hopefully).

Murphy seems somewhat promising by all reports, but seems to be shaping as purely an intercept-first half back in the mould of Howe (but slower), and so would need to beat out someone like a Howe, Shaz, Langdon for that role. Possibly, but not certainly.

I Think you know the answer to that

I know nothing.. Just a little surprised: no comments on his thread, not in anyone's best 22 and not here either yet he is still on the list and is yet to cement a spot.
What if Beams and Sier don't make it in 2020? He can tackle.
From the Wills thread:
Wills in the side makes Adams a better player. And Pendles and Sidebottoms play more outside makes them better. Flows onto better entry into the forward 50 and less turnovers in dangerous spots.
Same thing happened when Sier came in last year.
We need 2 bulls in the midfield for the current teams chemistry
We need something in the middle. Maybe Beams, if he returns anywhere near past years form, is the answer. Maybe Bucks will find a way to use Wills. Is there a place for a specialist tackler in AFL?

Yeah there is: he can teach tackling to other players, other players who can run, mark, kick and score. He should become a tackling coach.

Even if you're right, there's no way he is de-listed before the end of 2021.;)
Agree, especially since, supposedly the better one will be drafted that year
