Prediction Who takes charlie camerons and jake levers role?

With both lever and charlie leaving the crows this year there will be 2 spots in our best 22 to fill.

Who will take the step up and take these roles?

First crack in charlies roll gallucci?

First crack in levers roll doedee?

Also need to cover smith for 3/4 of the season could mcpherson suprise and debut early and play the majority of the season?

To me, Smith is the most difficult to cover, not so much as in the position, but in the quality of the player playing the position. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see Gibbs in Smithers' role for at least some of the time. I hope you're right with Smith out for only 3/4 of a season. I think it might be a bit longer.

I think Doedee will slide in for Lever.
I think that either Hampton or Gallucci will cover CC.
I think that both these changes will cover those losses.

Gibbs could easily do Smiths role but I have hunch that we may go with the Seed first and keep him for the mids.

I’m hoping that Gibbs and Gibson push Mackay and Douglas out of the 22.

Atkins, Knight and Milera all need to step up or they will be in strife this year.

I think Gibson has been bought in to fill Smith’s spot for the year.

Or, they might try to rejig the strategy somehow because that means 2 guys who have played 1 game between them are being given very crucial roles. Doedee at best will be as good as Lever was in 2015/16. So Keath maybe?

Gooch I am less worried about - CC was an impact player, not a there all the time doing the job well all the time player that Lever needed to be.

Gibbs is every bit as good as Smith, and probably better as he can also rotate into the midfield (and that is not to disparage Smith, whose injury with Guv pretty much killed our flag hopes IMO).

It was only yesterday I said to a mate we pretty much lost the GF when Smith went down, and made sure of it when Gov did a hammy. Bit dramatic I realise, but Smith’s injury gave me an immediate eerie feeling of foreboding. **** it all.

I will be livid if we bring in Gibbs to fill Smiths role. I mean do we think "well Sloane is getting tagged out of games again but we have the HBF looking shmik". We have a bunch of guys that can play Smiths role to a reasonable standard but we need to be able to make our midfield harder to shut down, which is why we traded out first rounders this year, I thought.

Surely we don't use gibbs on a hbf. Seedsman hampton mckay should be used there during the season. Gibbs is to valuable forward of centre with his skill set as a goal kicking midfielder.

You're likely going to be very disappointed then..

Replacing the output of Cameron shouldn't be too difficult at all considering he only had 3 or 4 games where he was better than average and more than a hand full where he hardly contributed to the cause.

Team Defence will go a long way towards filling Lever's spot.

Disagree ......Doedee has had 2 pre-seasons & 2 good SANFL seasons .....he's ready

Both Greenwood & McGovern had impactful seasons first up .......Lever missed 5 games this year, i didn't feel it affected us badly .....Smith though, not as easily replaced

Think you'll find it was more effective games than this ? ........his early season form was excellent, it was the post bye form that probably has colored the view on his season

I'm not convinced he's easiliy covered .......big job for Knight / Milera

I don't mind Keath as a tall option or Hampton as a smith replacement

Do you see hartigan Talia brown laird Kelly as absolute locks with one position left which more than likely needs to be an attacking option whether it be Gibbs Gibson Hampton Mackay Seedsman Doedee

If we come up against a tall team Keath maybe the man
