We have to look at retirements too. Burns may retire depending on how he goes this year but he has improved greatly over his previous slump. Woewodin may even be a chance to retire.

Fraser won't be going anywhere except to get a big fish, which is unlikely anyway as he recetly signed a new deal. This kid has serious talent and although he is soft at some contests (mainly the high impact marking contests) he has leadership coming out of the wazoo and can get the hardball when he has to. He can win games as a follower in the ruck. And as for his tapwork, last year it improved significantly, this year because of injury he hasn't had enough games to string together to get used to the new ruck rules.

Cole won't be stone cold delisted and to trade him for a 3rd round pick in my opinion would be ludicrous. It would be 10 times worse than the Scotland trade. To say he has had too many chances is also ludicrous. If he has shown nothing I'd agree, but people seem to forget how good he was consistantly last year. We gave Shaw forever to prove himself and now he's everyones love child.

Tarrant won't be traded at all other than to get a truely elite young player like a Judd, Ball or maybe Dal Santo (I rate Ball higher). Don't believe the crap that the bigfooty public feed you about Tarrant not being any good.

Maybe we can trade Fraser for someone with more heart. Like Ryan Houlihan.

We can't anyway, as he's been resigned.

I would try and trade Guy Richards at the end of the year. Fraser will have 30% of the ruck duties, and I'd like to see Fanning and Cameron Cloke share the rest of the ruck duties.
Dunno whether we would want to trade Guy CT. Hopefully he can get himself 100% and show us what he showed late last year, because I really like the look of him. I thought that he would be a fair backup, but with C Cloke and Fanning all showing glispes, it'll be interesting which path they take at the year's end.

Ok time for an update, the situation is getting more and more clear as time goes on

Definitely delist (trade if possible)

B Morrison
D King
S Woewodin
A Williams
Z Leonard (rookie list)
M Lokan

Possibly delist (trade if possible)

L Davis
T Walker

Trade (retain if no suitable trade)

R Cole
J Cloke
R Lonie (depending on form for rest of year, still in danger of being delisted)
J Fraser (unlikely to be traded though)

Promote
D Fanning

Retain on rookie list
B Davies
H O'Brien

Lucky to stay and under the pump in 2006
B Hall
T Davidson

Pretty much spot on hotpie. Josh just resigned FWIW.

I'd trade Tarrant for the right offer but there is no way he'll be traded. I'd think hard about delisting Leon if we couldn't trade him. He has had long enough. I'd trade O'Bree if we could. He should have worked his value up over the last 2 months.

If we're going to definitely delist six and promote one, I'm not sure why you'd even consider getting rid of Richards or Davidson.

IF they can get themselves fit, they're a better proposition of a fourth/fifth round draft pick.

I said they'd stay in 2006, but under thr pump to get delisted at the end of next season if they dont come good.

Thats about right although I wouldnt be surprised to see Richards delisted/traded if he cant get on the park before the end of year. I'd like to keep Walker but his form seems to get worse and worse. Fanning is a certainty for promotion.

Cole is our best trade bait, but I'd also consider Fraser if a suitably attractive player became free. Lonie is worthless as trade bait, and a decision must be made whether you retain or delist.

I say keep Lonie... Leave him in the team longer than 2 weeks and build him into the player we all know he can be.....

He played a good game tonight, he is always sooooo dangerous running towards goal...

Fraser must be nearing a fork in his career.... we need to think long and hard on where he will play if we keep him... He is NOT a good ruckman..... maybe a part time ruck relief but not a full time ruckman.... I know everyone on here seems to hate C Cloke but at least he does not get pushed around like a little girl in ruck duels.... he was very competitive last night, tackled hard, he even ran a player down (surprised the hell out of me with his lack of pace)... Fanning needs someone to teach him some footy smarts.... He has potential, but he needs to know what to do in certain situations. At times it looked as if he had no clues

I'm a fan of CC's ruckwork too but you forget Josh's 2003 where he was fantastic. He wins games in the ruck.

Definatley delist- Lokan, D.King, Andrew Williams, Billy Morrison, Brent Hall
Rookie list- Zane Leonard
Trade Bait - Shane Woewodin, Leon Davis, Tex Walker, Richard Cole
Promote Fanning and Davies
Guy Richards as much as a ihate to say it might be in a bit opf trouble soon if he cant get his body fit for the rigours of AFL footy.

Go after a pacey midfielder, rumours goin around that Mark Johnson from essendon and also likely to win there b and f is unhappy with sheeds and wants a change at the end of the year. Would anyone else consider getting Mark Johnson or perhaps Dean Brogan from P.A if he wants to leave.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Mark Johnson isn't a very "pacey" player either; Collingwood should continue going after Power becuase pace is what they lack in the middle, not grunt.

Yes quam jimmy is right. I know most Collingwood fans are against getting Luke power, but if he truely is availbe we should make a push for him.
Mark Johnson is the same type of player as Licuria, Booch, Holland, O'Bree, B.Shaw and Burns. He is not necessary an exceptional talent that you would try to get no matter what like J.Brown is (despite the fact we have more than enough key forwards).

Thats about 30% of the entire list that you believe could be turned over in one year.

Not in this life time and it just doesn't happen anymore.
Even Carlton who were crap and in far worse position that we have ever been 'only' turned 25% of their list.

I have no problem playing fantasy games but let's not pass it off as being real.

No I've named five regualr listed players (which is normal) less a promotion from the rookie list, leaving space for four new players. Thats four players net, or 10% of the list. Back to school.

Plus I've thrown up another six names of players who could be possibly offered for trade, but obviously they wont all go. The way trades work, we could expect one or two at the most to be traded. Read it again, moron, "retain if no suitable trade".

It must be nice to live in your fantasy world where words can mean anything you want them to mean.

And of course to deflect attention away from your ridiculous ramblings that have absoluteluy no basis, you turn a topic of discuss into name calling and then get all offended when someone responds in kind.
With all those posts you would think you had grown up a little, but alas I guess not.

five players -definite delistings, less one promotion = 4 players

4 out of 38 is 10 % of the list.

Another 2 may go, so that may take it up to 15%

Another 2 may be traded, so that takes it up to 21% at the ABSOLUTE maximum and that would be in a " recruiting Luke Power scenario" or similar

God knows where you got 30% from. You just plucked that out of the air in order to take a cheap shot. In case you are unaware our list is not fantastic, not much better than Carlton's, and needs further overhaul beofre we move forward.
