As we all know, he is dangerous when he goes forward, can deifnelty be the match winner, will start down back, and possibly start on Nathan Bock, but when Hunter goes forward, shall we keep Bock with him, as we saw last season Bock is a great defender, and as we are seeing this season Bock can also be a forward, so wherever Hunter goes i rekon Bock should go with him?

Stevens.
Just keeps beating his opponent every week. I have full confidence that he'll do a good job on Hunter if Hunter is moved up forward. Bock is important up forward at the moment. I'd be reluctant to move him back. I've had a feeling all week that Bock is in for a good game.

It's funny isn't it.

Our respective teams' premier CHBs will probably start forward (again) - this time last year both sets of supporters were saying how stiff they were to ignored for AA selection.

That said, I agree with Dandy_GO - Stevens is in form has the pace, agility and engine to go with him. No need to fiddle with a good thing.

Completely forgot about him.

So if we move Bock back to take Hunter and put Stevens on Hansen, we're left with Perrie and Welsh alone in the forward line as key targets?

Either way, we seem a man short don't we.

rooch recommends playing mcgregor on hansen.

what other talls forwards do they have?

i presume chick would play back on either burton or welsh.

anyway, hunter was listed last week as playing CHB but we all know he runs forward a lot and is attacking. IMO this would suit Nathan Bock more than Ian Perrie, so maybe move him to CHF and have Perrie along the HF as well. Bock basically follows Hunter everywhere, and if Hunter moves forward Bock follows and Perrie basically assumes the role of CHF.

This also moves Glass out of his comfort zone...the goal square.

This leaves our deep forwards as Welsh and Burton which would suit because they could beat most in the air and on the ground.

The other option IMO is to do the same but with Kenny in the forward line which would allow us to bomb it in more and hope for a park mark, either him or the birdman.

Craigy should look to create our own mismatch's rather than try and cover theirs. Think positively rather than negatively...would be the first step to playing attacking footy.

I think you will see where he will play from who the Eagles bring in. If Graham doesn't come back in, that would leave them a tall short in defence if Hunter went forward.

although, I would think Bassett, Torney or Mattner would pick him up.

Torney or Bassett would be the best matchup for Hunter, IMHO.

I don't think Bock will be moved back - he will stay in the forward line.

Rutten to Lynch and Stevens to Hansen. :thumbsu:

If Hunter pushes forward I reckon Torney is the man for the job. If he pushes back into defence to help out the eagles back line Torney to follow. We saw how dangerous Torney can be in our forward line two weeks ago when he kicked a couple. In saying this I reckon Hunter will start on Bock but I would be dissapointed if Bock was forced to follow him when he pushes forward. Our loose man in defense will need to keep an eye on him wandering down. Stevens on Hansen

Hansen vs Bassett
Hunter vs Stevens
Lynch vs Rutten

Welsh vs Glass
Perrie vs Chick
Bock vs Staker

maybe the match ups?

Hansen vs Bassett

Just on this one, Hansen roams far and wide in a similar vein to Tredrea - whereas Bassett does his best work in the back 50 as the third up, or emergency mop-up defender.

If anyone was to go to Hansen it'd be Stevens, provided Bock stays forward.

Otherwise, your defensive matchups are sound.

Welsh vs Glass
Perrie vs Chick

Other way round.

Not unless WC bring in another key defender. If Hunter goes forward they've only got Glass back there.

Each one of those would be giving away at least 10 cm and 20 odd kilograms.

They would get SLAUGHTERED in the marking contests.

I suppose Bassett is our only answer - I thought Hansen was 5 odd centimetres shorter than he was.
But yeah, as long as Hunter stays back then we can keep Bassett free, or relatively free with Steveo on Hansen.
