MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me me me me me me me me me.

It's definately time they left it alone. I've said before - they'll have to change the name of it soon since it's fast turning into something that is just not football..

gPhonque.

i voted yes, but if the rule is causing alot of trouble than you have no choice other than to change it.

In Rugby League last year, they had a very bad rule regarding the dead ball line, and it was so bad, it was changed back to the original ruling this year.

But as a general rule of thumb, i would keep the laws as they are for the next half-decade.

spanner in the works

The rule I think needs to be changed is the 'out of bounds' (deliberate or not) rule. I'm talking about eliminating the throw in completely.
I believe that when the ball goes out of bounds off the hand or foot of a player, a free kick should be given to the opposing team.
When the ball goes out of bounds within the 50 metre line a direct shot for goal is not allowed and the ball must be passed to another player before a shot is allowed. If the ball goes directly out of bounds from the kick in after a behind, then a direct shot is allowed.
This rule would eliminate ugly ruck duels at the boundary line and the consequent stupid frees paid by umpires. It would also allow for a quicker, more fluent game with less stoppages caused by negative tactics.
I know it's a harsh penalty for someone who is trying to clear the ball from the backlines under pressure, but really, it's usually the less talented players who resort to the tactic of pushing the ball over the line.
This rule was tried in that pre pre-season comp a couple of years ago and worked really well. I don't think it would disrupt our game too much and would, in my opinion, make the game more exciting and pressure filled.
Before you reply calling me a fukwit or any other smart comments, read it again and you may just see some merit in it. If you don't I would like to discuss some ideas on fixing a rule which nobody seems to really understand.
