Who wants a Republic?

In 2019 Prince Edward (working royal) visited Australia, while Prince William visited New Zealand in April 2019 after the Christchurch mosque attack.

In 2020 a planned visit by Prince William and kate (working royals), where they were due to visit bushfire stricken towns in Victora and NSW was cancelled due to COVID. 2021 visits were also affected by covid restrictions.

Princess Anne (working royal) visited in April 2022 meeting bushfire victims and representatives of the NSW fire service.

Prince William, Princees Kate (both working royals) and family are likely to visit in 2023 and plan to meet bushfires and flood victims and tour the areas affected by both. Visiting the flood-ravaged Kimberley this year is reportedly something that will be happening.

Anthony Albanese told the ABC a few days ago that he believes Charles III will be a highly engaged King of Australia, describing him as "very interested in what's happening" in the country. He also said Charles was knowledgeable about the issues that Australia was currently dealing with. Finally an official, formal invitation for Charles and Camilla to visit has been extended, possibly to occur between September and November this year.
So we are meant to he thankful they could be bothered 3 times?

We are blessed aren't we.

Bring on the Republic.

Huh? 2.8 million across abc, 7 and 9 will make it easily one of the (if not the) biggest shows for the year.
Seven: 739k
Nine: 558k
ABC: 513k
Ten: 276k
PayTV: 151k
Total: 2.237m

Source: Mediaweekaus (Oztam ratings).

The AFL Grand Final gets at least a million more than that on FTA (6 million reach btw) and only a fraction of Sydneysiders watch the AFL.

For a supposedly "once in a lifetime event" plus the daily over the top coverage the media gave it including putting it on virtually every network, those numbers are hardly something to boast about. Seven, in the end, didn't even bother putting it on their main channel here in Melbourne. Ten got a third of viewership that Masterchef got the following night and more viewers watched people put Lego together on Nine on Sunday lmao. The ABC had as many viewers watching Bluey and Q&A. The Coronation Concert ratings on Monday night was a fizzer too.

Fewer people watch TV these days despite the surge in our population to 26m. If you look back at the tv ratings for popular shows from the mid 90s such as Blue Heelers, they would average 2.5m viewers from a population with 8m less people. Only a small minority of Aussies watched the coronation on Saturday night.

You've posted this before and it was debunked.

Edward was here in September 2019 (prior to the bushfires) for the 60th Anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh awards which was held here. NZ isn't Australia either by the way.

Anne only attended the Easter Show in urban Sydney. A few reps from the fire services had to go to her. She never visited a single region affected by the fires nor the victims that live there. So typical of the narcissist foreign monarchy. Everybody has to bow down before them!

The fires were in late 2019. Covid lockdowns didn't occur until March 2020. William & Kate plus the rest of the foreign monarchy were no shows when it mattered most to Australia. To busy selfishly infighting over Harry and Meghan to care about far away Australia .

The fact a "planned visit" was cancelled just further demonstrates why we desperately need an Australian as our own Head of State rather than a monarchy on the other side of the planet. This foreign monarchy can't do the job when it matters. An Aussie Head of State would never have their visits cancelled because they would live here and never be locked out of the country. An Aussie Head of State would be expected to visit Cobargo, Eden, Mallacoota, Buchan, Kangaroo Island, Lismore, the Kimberley, etc as soon as it was safe to go into these areas. Not be a no show for 4 years and counting after the event!

The foreign monarchy is only thinking of coming this year for their own PR benefit to try and counter the growing mood to replace them with an Aussie Head of State. Of course, these junkets will be paid for once again by the Australian taxpayer. And once again, these "royals" only think about themselves and act according to how it affects their profile and with the sole aim to preserve their privileged undemocratic positions. Just a pack of narcissists to the end!
