Haha no. Always wanted Paul George when there were rumours we could get him or Butler but the Bulls want to build around Jimmy and PG looks to want to stay with Indiana. Defientely don't want Melo.

He's still worth a pick between 7-12. He's not that bad guys. The problem is he needs to go to a team that's in contention now. A team with a pick from 7-12 is not in that position (it's basically where the Knicks are now). So, that means a third team needs to get involved that actually wants Melo.

Fair chance melo is at cavs next year, especially if the warriors blow them out.

Warriora dont really have any great one on one defenders besides iggy. Im gonna tip that if he loses this year, gm lebron will want to fight fire with fire and bring in melo.

Straight swap for love

There is not a fair chance at all. Love is fairly useless against Golden State but he's an important cog against every other team. Trading him for Melo leaves the team relying on the extremely limited Tristan Thompson as the one capable big man. The Cavs biggest issue is their defence and despite Love being ordinary himself, Melo is probably worse. He's not a power forward and never will be and relying on an ageing LeBron to deal with fours is far from ideal.

I'm not even that convinced Melo would want to go there either. His ego has always been huge and at just 32 I can't see him just accepting becoming a role player in Cleveland. The Knicks don't have a use for Love either and the Cavs have nothing else to offer.

I can't see any team really suiting his situation like others have already said on here. The no trade clause makes it impossible to trade him away for a decent pick even if a crap team wants an expiring contract in a year or two. Melo won't want to go there.

the cavs can make the finals without love...easily. Lebron has given every indication he wants to play with his bff's in melo, wade and cp3. May or may not happen but it wouldnt surprise me the slightest

So they get Melo and become even worse defensively and you're telling me they make the finals easily? They probably won't even make the finals easily this year and that's with a much more capable front line.

And again why would the Knicks just give away Carmelo? Sure he doesn't have the greatest value anymore but they'd get rid of Phil Jackson before handing a contender a good scorer for a useless return.

The knicks are a franchise that are DESPERATE for a fresh start. id be betting that jackson will be pleading his case behind the scenes that he hasnt been able to achieve his goals being handicapped by melo and his contract.

Trading for Kevin Love is not a fresh start. They want to be able to gut the team and build around Porzingis.

My mistake forgot about draymond, point still stands that the warriors are a far more offensive unit. Honestly think that lebron will try shoot them off the court next year if they lose this year

You don't watch bball do you? The Warriors were the best defensive team in the league this year.

But:
He only really makes sense for a contender.
And no contender is gonna really wanna give up pieces worth a mid lottery pick to get him.

I dont see a simple solution. Is New York gonna be willing to accept 50c on the $, or is Jackson gonna try and play hardball? I can see this being another messy 6-12 months ahead

Yeah they are. But they are still a top 5 defensive team. Klays a great defender and so is zaza. So realisticly they have 4 very good defenders. One who's elite and very flexable. Iggy/Klay who are great perimeter defendeds. Javale whos an elite rim protector. Zaza and green are great at protecting the paint. Durant whos been an effective rim protector as well.

Your point is ****ed. I disagree with fidstar Because i think the spurs are better defensively. And But thats semantics.

While I think it's Warriors, Spurs 1 and 2 respectively, I don't have an issue with anyone who thinks it's the other way around. It's pretty close.
